Canadian toons (YTV, Teletoon)
Does anyone know the best way to get either of these channels (YTV or Teletoon) in the states? Satelite would be the obvious choice, but I'm pretty sure that if you live in a large enough city you can get them one way or another through cable. I was checking out the programming for Teletoon and was really impressed, they had a good variety, and a good line up. And there wasn't really anything too annoying, I couldn't always say the same for CN (although it's still my favorite). I suggest you check out either of these channels, I'm pretty sure YTV is kind of an all around channel, not just toons, but that's cool. You might have seen YTVs or Teletoon's logo at the end of various cartoons (Braceface on abc family, for example). American cable channels are picking up more and more Canadian stuff. Grim and Evil would be another good example, although I'm pretty sure they were each their own show originally, CN was just lazy about finding time slots for both of them. It seems that there's more to Canada than hockey, hosiers, and the Kids in the Hall.
Go to www.teletoon.com (duh)
or www.ytv.com (yet again, you could have figured that out on you own, just being nice)
P.S. All of you Reboot fans already know this I'm sure, but YTV is where it originated, yes, Mainframe entertainment is Canadian. Cool eh?
P.P.S. YTV picked up Spongebob Squarepants, it seems that the cartoon swapping goes either way.

I don't think it is on DirecTV.
Is Ed, Edd, and Eddy canadian?
-
I know they show Ed, Edd, and Eddy on Teletoon, I'm not sure if it originated there, it is made by a somewhat unfamilar studio though, so it's quite possible that it's Canadian.

yeah I think it's canadian.
"It's a squirt gun!"
"A squirt gun eddy?"
"Yeah...from canada!"
"Well if it is from canada, heaven forbid....(I forgot the rest, some qouter I am)

People can always make a mass petition to request these channels.... At least I think.
Although providers might gawk at you for requesting Canadian channels.

Man, that would be nice, i've been wanting to watch either of those channels for a while, how do you suppose one would get such a petition started?

As a Canadian, I can tell you that Teletoon and YTV are...better than bad. They're good. Not perfect, though. YTV has the rights to all 109 Batman: The Animated Series episodes, but it's on hiatus now (and was last on at 3:40AM, after having been on previously at 7:00AM and 2:00PM, I believe). They also have the rights to Batman Beyond and took FOREVER to put it back into their schedule. It's on now, finally. They have also been playing Dexter's Lab for years now, on and off. It is on Tuesday to Friday. As for Teletoon, they've had some good shows, most notably 2 Stupid Dogs. They tried to get Space Ghost C-to-C back in 1998, but couldn't for some reason. I wrote them and got the generic "we tried but it fell through" response. That would have been MAJOR had they gotten it. The only people I know that know of Space Ghost are ones that I've told, unfortunately. Had they gotten the show back then, he could be enjoying a big following here, but alas, it was not to be. Sigh.
