NOTES
- THIS IS IT FOLKS, THE SEASON FINALE. This is the last episode we thought we'd ever see, but a Christmas special in December and a new season some time after that.
- YES YES YES
- Oh right and a "Marathon" is before this, of episodes #50 and #51 of EEnE!
Let's Begin!
I've already seen this episode, due to los 3 eds, and I can tell you it's pretty good. I won't spoil anything, but I will tell you the ending has an interesting twist.
This is great. After taking a while for the creators to get into their stride, and for me to actually get it (I pretty much thought the show was horrible when I first saw it), EEnE has risen to near the top of my favorite cartoons.
wow.. a kiddie show. too bad noone's buying, as usual..
and then they all discuss their futures , now that paid off. .. well, not for sarah, but she sure looked cute up in the air like that. so did naz with the glasses.
and as usual chaos ensues. ooh, those vines. now that's leaving a mark. OOH my god rolf's hair is catching!!!! now only one edd left with rolf hair, better keep that hat on more than ever!!!
ooh my ... looks like the years have not been kind! we look like turkeys, LOL. i couldnt' think of a cooler thing to say in this thanksgiving time.
oooh, plank hasn't seen very good days. i guess they didnt' grow much on the average in the past years. OOH sarah did mature after all!!! nice.
...SARAH CAN GROW UP!!! NICE!!!.. i thought there wasn't any such adults in the world of the eds.. well, at least the kids can grow up, anyway.
and rolf is too out of it right now. ... now that's old school butt kicking from uh..
nice dream, wasn't it!?!? ohhh.. two of them.
90 out of 100. mostly years, but still a good grade. too bad this is probably the last of them..
.. uh, no?!?! what? maybe more? you sure? hmmm...
.. i wish those guys who did incredible shrinking day with the different ed designs could be behind any new eds episodes, they could have really redefined the eds as we've come to know them.
ahh, the good old daze and confus-eds,
wrenchien.
I thought they'd have the happy ending where they eat the jawbreakers, but what they had was funny anyway.
You must not run away.
You must not turn your back on him.
He comes for people who have been driven into a corner and have nowhere to go.
You must not talk about him.
You must not think about him.
The rumors help him grow.
Imagination.
Paranoia nurtures him!
I actually liked the episodes before this a little more than this one, but this was great too. There were some great visual gags like usual (my sister who hates how the show looks was actually laughing). The ending was pretty interesting too, what's interesting is that the storytelling of the series would actually fit with the segments of the stories Eddy would choose to tell. And did my ears play tricks on me but did Eddy say, "schmuck"?
Of course no one is going to buy into Eddy's children's show. It reminded me a bit of the show on Greg the Bunny.
I liked the career counseling, although I think Sarah probably would not do very well in terms of being a traffic light. At least Johnny is a good gopher. I was hoping that we'd see Edd with his hat off at Rolf's makeshift barbershop though.![]()
I think the voice cast was good at aging all of the characters, and I am surprised that in the future they'd all practically be the same in terms of personality.![]()
I have no idea when the next season starts, but hopefully it should be good; Danny and company deserve a rest, and hopefully they'll come back with some more good stuff.
Best line: Elderly Edd: "(Eddy trying cutting open chest with jawbreakers) Let's see if I can recall the flavor, boysenberry wasn't it? You know, boysenberry (continues rambling, adds kumquats into the picture) My cat, Niels Bohr, doesn't like me wearing corduroys around the house (continues rambling about noisy corduroys)"![]()
Be sure to catch 24 every Monday at 9pm Eastern on Fox (and 10pm Eastern on Global). Watch it, because you know you're brighter than Michael Irvin.
Oh my gosh, I loved this episode - so many parts had me laughing out loud! Jonny as a gopher, Sarah as a stop light, Rolf's haircut on Ed and Eddy...Kevin trying to run Eddy over in his old-man scooter...And Ed wanting to be rice when he grows up? I LOVED that =)
Had this been the last episode as originally planned, I can't imagine a better way of sending the series off - I love that Danny & co. were going to let the Eds remain friends forever like that, that just made the cheeseball in me happy...And of course I'm even -happier- that there are 2 more seasons to look forward to now -plus- the holiday specials coming up; huzzah for unending EEnE goodness!

Ah a fine season finale. "Double D what has happened to us we look like turkeys". That was the best line in that episode. It was hilarious. I'm glad this isn't the end for Ed, Edd, and Eddy. I hope the new season turns out great. This episode was a great way to end the show if it did.
To finish this up the creators did a great job with the show. Season 2 will hopefully be great to continue Ed, Edd, and Eddy. 10/10. Spactacular show

Wow, so the entire Eds series is one long flashback! Kind of like "Wonder Years" minus the narrator. What a great episode. Danny A and his staff have produced one of the most strange and memorible cartoons ever. Its so sad to see the original "batch" be done with, but a new season is coming. Personally I think its going to be just as great.
Anyway, I thought the episode hit a lot of points that made the series the series. Mainly, Eddy's schemes. Without them, we see everyone just sitting around. I enjoyed it because it showed the kids as old people, yet didn't tamper with it by trying to make them all teenagers or anything. Despite a 90 year passage of time, everyone still lives in the cul de sac, and life is as normal and it will ever be...freaky. Hehe.

Finally they showed this episode! I thought it was very funny. The careers that hey chose were great, Johnny a gopher and Sara a traffic light, priceless! Seeing them as elderly folks was unexpected but very entertaining.
Looks like the Christmas special will be showing the first Friday of next month, so I'm looking forward to that!

that was really good I thought the antics of Kevin were king though from his "I'm gonna heave" to him being so old and still calling Eddy a dork
do we really know the series was a flashback though? at the end Eddy was remembering when they got the jawbreakers out of the desk but before that the desk and candy had gone to dust so I think the ending was just a trick!
Personally I've 'decided' the flashback aspect and old man finale was just a continuation of Eddy's bowling ball-induced hallucination - if ego-monkey Eddy were really the one "telling" all the other EEnE episodes, wouldn't they have featured him in a far more positive/successful light? Think back to his part of the story in "Once Upon an Ed" =)do we really know the series was a flashback though? at the end Eddy was remembering when they got the jawbreakers out of the desk but before that the desk and candy had gone to dust so I think the ending was just a trick!
But then again, maybe I'm just thinking it through more than I should =) Either way this was a -great- episode...Now I just want to know what happened to Jonny and Plank to cause them both to lose their left eyes - oh, the horror!

btw, old sarah + melons (even withered ones) = teh priceless HAHA!!!![]()
That was hillarious. Probably the best Eds episode I've ever seen. I'm glad I went to the effort of watching it.
Ed was especially hillarious with the obligitory "old men go to the bathroom a lot" references
"Control is the first thing to go Eddy"
If this is the "end" of the regular run of the series it's fine by me. It was a suitable ending. Not much resolve but unlike say... SAMURAI JACK. This show doesn't need much closure.

The storyboards on EEE are insane. I saw some for the episode with Eddy's middle name and they were really really slick.Originally Posted by Coolboyman

It'd have been a great way of ending the series, cutting off only to find out that all the previous adventures had just been 3 old men recalling their pasts as children. But since it's not the last one, that means even better episodes to come yet! I for one can't wait.

I do suppose this could count as a good ending for the series. I mean we find that all this time we have not been watching the misadventures of a couple of young delinquents, but the recollections of a couple of old men about their days of their youth. But after Edd won the election, I have been hoping for new EEE episodes.
