    Um....yeah.

This is still just not right.

The animation is actually pretty neat, but everything else....So, they defeat the villains by dressing them up and then dance around?

I feel really sorry for Craig McCracken. Now that his creation is in other hands, they're doing THIS to it.

    Was that the whole thing?
Does anyone know when these come on? Is it right before or after a PPG episode Friday?

    That was just odd.
I guess we should be thinking of these as commercials, not episodes, although that water safety commercial was much more enjoyable.
And I thought I would repeat something I said in the other thread that puts it in perspective for me.
Theses shorts are to action cartoons the way a fashion show is to the legitimate theater.

These episodes are poorly done, I must say. Judging from the PPGStyle.com website, I thought it was going to be more Flash-looking, but I discover they're i 3-D cel shading (like SD Gundam). I can't help but think "yuck". Not only is the "fighting evil before bedtime" montra made into a mockery with cosmetics and shopping, but the actual animation of these characters in a third dimension makes them look like maroinettes controlled by a drunked puppeteer.

I get the idea that Cartoon Network mainly want to do this to sell the products, so no harm in their intention. What I don't like is that they've taken some of their best characters and turned them into Barbie dolls in order to do so. Could have the girls existed in their original form with slight product changes for a hip, graphic, stylistic change? I know they do that ALL the time on concert T-shirts, and it doesn't make sense that they'd actually MARKET these new changes instead of just selling them with the familiar and friendly images from TV. Instead we get these clunky ads that basically "sell out" the franchise.

Also, we have the model search contest at PPGStyle.com. Sure, its a fun idea to have little girls pulled from the audience to model their clothes, but not like this. Those little girls like "The Powerpuff Girls" not "PPGStyle". I'm surprised you didn't attempt to make the PPG's into princesses or some other ultra-fem conception of what women "want" to be.

I'll say this once Cartoon Network: You want to sell something, then make something new. Don't sell-out your charaters or stories for a buck. I'm really shocked you'd take something you care about so much and trudge it through the mud like this. Remaking a classic like "Judy Jetson" or "Penelope Pitstop" would have been more fun and allowed for more freedom. The characters are dated, and nastalgia is fun. Remaking a show with strong female leads and reducing them to fashion maivens goes against everything McCraken worked to create. They're no longer strong females, they're girls that care more about what they look like than what's inside.

Jon nailed it. It's a mockery, nay a travesty, that completely goes against what the show was about, all to make a buck. Congratulations CN, what was a "witty, sardonic" show and concept is now two steps away from being a "Sleeping Beauty Barbie" DVD. Ah well, maybe this'll flop and CN will finally put the show and franchise to rest, maybe after a DVD boxset or 4 first (you know, the good seasons.)

That's very true. And of course, they're going to try to cash more off of the PPGs in DVD sales. Not a bad idea.

Hey, I know flash when I see it. If CN wants to see what flash looks like, go to Newgrounds.

That's pretty horrible. I thought they'd do something cool...but they made the PPG look more like aliens with crazy hair and lipstick. Too much, not the correct shade lipstick.

I agree with CookieS. I liked the old show. It was pretty cool. I thought the site was bad...but what from everybody's saying...this reaks of the smell of armpits and bad ideas. I saw the commercials. I thought they looked ugly. And don't think the PPG would be like this when they're teens. Shame, CN. Shame. Jush make a commercial, like the water safety buddy, and the Chuckie Cheese commercial. You made the PPG into shallow characters who are just like over-preppy popular girls who do nothing else than gossip.

Not something that Craig...or even the creator of Cow and Chicken would do. Who made this up, a 14 yr old who's IQ is 90? This is like Spongebob material! My sister even said that (MahouShojo13)! So they beat the villians by dressing them in hideous clothing and make them dance? Hey, good thing I didn't see the epi and only the commercial. If I did, I would never recover so I can watch CC. I think this will give CN a badder rep. I don't think the creators of Spongebob would make this travesty, and PPGStyle seems to be like that. If this cartoon was in Craig's hands, ne would have more action, and more originality.

Yup. And Sleeping Beauty Barbie I thought was horrible when I saw the commercial.

Stupid idea. Stupid character design. I'd say this is a show for over preppy teen girls who are popular, skinny, revealing, and go out with a boy every 3 months. No, let me say 3 weeks. This...is plain horrible.

That's just strange in all the weird ways possible.

    *blink*

Scratch that. It's a conspiracy. I think they might be trying to promote clothes and "Rugrats All Grown Up" at the same time in a remarkably convoluted way.

ehhh, not bad looking to me. perhaps it's the first real new design the ppg ever had, you're probably just so used to the old designs.

and i saw some of the clips aired on the tube, btw. they were actually almost 3-d in design, the way they danced around.

i just do hope, if ppg picks up the designs and becomes ppt or something.. they at least have some real plots. and funny ones .

Exactly. It's like video game companies thinking (I borrow this from a post in the Video Games forum) "If we want girls to start playing, we'll have to plaster Mary-Kate and Ashley all over the cover!"

Ooh... those pics Sampo provided are FUG-LEE. I don't want to check this out for myself, I'm too afraid now.

Wow... I just watched this, and I was just shocked.. Obviously it's to sell the PPGStyle things, but it was just so weird..

The girls putting clothes on the villains and them dancing with them, only to stylishly kick Mojo Jojo.. It was so confusing.. I didn't like the look either. That was just weird.
