SJ X: Did Anybody Watch Monday Night?
Did anybody watch Monday's episode of "Samurai Jack" where he battled the rock warrior? I thought the last scene was absolutely beautiful.
I was almost tempted to turn on my DVD and play "Entrance of the Gods into Valhalla" from Wagner's
"Ring des Nibelungen." (But that'd be dissin' Mr.
Venable!)
If you missed it, it's on again this Friday. Keep your "Ring" CD handy!

"Hoj-jo-ho-ho!"
"Who else wants some?!?"--Samurai Jack ("Episode VIII") and Bubbles ("Bubblevicious" episode, PPG)

I saw it too! The last scene was indeed beautiful, but what really caught my eye was the animation going on while the warrior told his history. I'm not sure why - guess just the sheer simplicity of it.
I wonder though, why were the bounty hunters after the burly Scotsman in last week's episode? If there was an explanation, I missed it...also, what episode number was last week's?
"Pinky, my parents...they're driving me insane!"
"Egad Brain, really? Ooh, well that kinda leaves me without much to do..."

Last week's episode was "Episode XI."

I appreciated that, too- graphics in the style of actual Norse carvings. It was especially interesting to see the Norse stylization of Japanese demon Aku- not every animator would've thought of doing that.
