    Curiousity about a Revamp

    Like This Thread!
Not too long ago, back when Cartoon Network were doing "What a Cartoon!" shorts, I read that there were going to be new Peter Potamus and Lippy the Lion shorts. Unfortunately they didn't get off the ground, though Dino and George and Junior got fresh shorts in the first experiment.

    Now I'm curious.

After seeing Flintstone on the Rocks the other day had me thinking . . . which classic Hanna-Barbera short would you like to be revised and revamped for a 21st century?

I'm going shorts instead of shows like Scooby-Doo (which had numerous movies premiere in the last few years).
What does the X stand for? It's definitely not Extreme. Extreme starts with E.

Can I just pick ALL OF THEM? I ultimately chose Yogi Bear as the ONE I most would like to see, but I would be delighted to see any of these revamped.

I taped the original Yogi revamped shorts off of Cartoon Network, with the exception of the first one. I thought for sure they would run it again, but I never did see it on TV again. So if anybody out there has that first revamped Yogi short on tape....

I'd like to see some of these revamped versions become new series. And if not a new series, I do hope they surface on DVD soon. I was surprised I didn't start seeing more of those new Yogi shorts on CN. I hope that the Yogi shorts and that new Flintstones movie make it to DVD some time soon.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

I'd like to see Quick Draw McGraw, because Mo Willems happens to have access to them(he did the City E Scape shortie a while back), and I bet he could do a good job with it, as long as there aren't so many puns(although that would make it more like a H-B toon after all).

I chose Huckleberry Hound because I think that he's the most versatile. This would allow for a series of cartoons that would hopefully be able to avoid getting repetitive. You aren't limited to stories in Jellystone or the Wild West or whatever. But there are several others there that could work well too. Yeah, most of the old Yogi's and Quick Draw's were pretty original, but I dunno if a new crew would run out of ideas on them. And there's less probability of repetitiveness with Huck.

I'd like to see a revival of "The Impossibles"
(Coil Man, Fluid Man, Multi-Man); either call them out of retirement, or make them an alternative-rock band and have them take on a villain like "The Animalizer," a deranged animal-rights activist who turns Hollywood
celebrities into animals with a ray-gun (e.g.: Gwenyth Paltrow is turned into a chicken, Henyth Poultry; Sylvester Stallone becomes the original "Italian Stallion"--A horse; Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman get turned into cats and have a big catfight, etc.)

Another candidate for revival is "The Space Kidettes" (Countdown, Snoopy, Jenny Jet, Scooter).
I've always wondered, even when I first watched this as a kid, what sort of treasure the Space Kidettes kept (probably bubblegum cards, collectibles, etc.) that made Captain Skyhook "and his evil pal Static" want to steal their treasure map each week. Also, they should have some sort of super-powers or super high-tech kid weapons.

"You may have all the toys...But there is one thing you don't have: true fandom!" (Professor Utonium, "Collect Her" episode, PPG)

I'm with zimed on this one. Someone on the unofficial Adult Swim website said they would like to see Top Cat done like the Sopronos. I have to say I wouldn't mind that ether.

I chose Pixie and Dixie with Mr. Jinx. My only requests are that they use the old theme song and don't call it a Cartoon Cartoon.

    Pixie Dixie Deedely Dum
    are the best of friends
    Pixie Dixie Deedely Dum
    are friends 'till the end
    Pixie Dixie Deedely Dum
    sometimes enjoy a spat
    Pixie Dixie Deedely Dum
    and Mr. Jinx the Cat!
