How do you put pictures in your signature and how do you put the pictures under your name besides there called avatars.

Well, first you have to get 10 posts. Then you have to go under "Control Panel," then click on "Change Options" and go to the bottom, where you click on "Change Avatar." Then you'll have to follow the instructions there, you can either add a picture from the web or one of your own, you just need to make sure that it is the right size. There are lots of programs you can use to make a picture the right size if you don't know of any. I use Advanced JPEG Compressor, Photoshop works of course...there's plenty of freeware/shareware stuff out there.

Also, some of the guys on the board like to make avatars so maybe you could ask one of them to make you one. Bird Boy is usually really nice about this, so if you ask him really politely, he might help you out.

Also, if you'd like to change your Custom User Text (the little text underneath your name, like mine says "by the light of the moon") just wait 10 days, then go to your Control Panel. After that, click on "Edit Profile" and scroll down until you see Custom User text. Type whatever you'd like inside the little text box, then scroll down to the bottom of page and click "submit changes".

I have a problem. I still don't have an avatar even though I have more than 10 posts. I clicked at the "Change Avatar" option and there were no selections.

You have to find the picture yourself. Or ask someone else here to make one for you. Just think of the kind of picture you would like and search the internet for it, then download it and make it into an avatar using paint programs. Feel free to ask for help if you have trouble resizing it.

You have to be registered ten days to have the personal title under your name.

If it's not too much trouble, Vince. Could you tell me how I get this avatar to work? I have it saved on the computer as a gif so what do I do from there? Also how do you quote people so you can reply? Sorry to beat a dead horse. Thanks!

To quote, hit "Reply" in the bar above someone's post. It should be right across from the user's name, just keep looking right. That will quote that person's whole post.

I described how to change avatars above in the second post on this thread, and I really don't think that I can describe it better than I did. Just follow those and the directions on those pages. Make sure that the avatar picture is the right size, you can resize using painting progrmas. Your Control Panel is at the top of this page in the light blue bar underneath the Cartoon Cartoon pictures.

The FAQ describes this too, so you might want to look at that.

It's the little picture of somthing underneath your name. Like mine is of Robin covered in muck...

if you can't see them, it might be because you have "Show User Avatars" shut off..
