My thots on this madness

Absolutely horrifying, but we've certainly been overdue for a successful terrorist attack--bin-Ladin has been after us for years and it appears that he has finally succeeded.

As to war--yes, I believe there will be one. Once the USA zeroes in on the culprits behind this (and bin-Ladin is looking more and more likely), he and the country harboring him will be toast. I think that part of Afghanistan is now called Taliban. They're squealing like little piggies proclaiming bin-Ladin's innocence and their lack of involvement, but that's gonna fall on deaf ears. Will it be another World War? I dunno. Somehow I don't think so. But maybe it will put a serious dent in the horrors of terrorism that have plagued the rest of the world for far too long before it reached our shores. This should certainly test Bush's mettle.

As for a draft--not necessary. This is a war the people of the USA are behind. Folks are wanting revenge. My daughter's male friends are talking of enlisting. Folks now out of the military are seeking to re-up. America is rallying around this country in every way. They want to go kick terrorist tail.

I don't like war, but sometimes it is necessary. If we want to keep terrorist acts from happening again, we have to bite the bullet and then fire it true.

"The Taliban" is the regime that rules Afghanistan: a fundamentalist Muslim government so conservative that they make the Iranian mullahs look like a bunch of transvestite porn stars.
