Yes. Very cautious, very slow, holds up traffic, drives under the speed limit, slow reaction time...

Well my mom has always driven over the speed limit and been a really aggressive driver and I can see her still driving that way for years to come.

I lot depends on genetics. When you get old, your body becomes slower and weaker--no matter how tough you are, you can't fight father time. That's why when you hit a certain age, you have to take driving tests quite frequently to verify your competency on the road.

Yes. All what I would have said has been said. Sometimes it seems like they can't see over the wheel...
My mother drives very aggresively too, sometimes it scares me when her temper flares up......so maybe I would have to change my vote soon; as like Psycho Fox said of his mother, she's gonna stay that way for a long time...

My grandmother gave up on driving because it scared her too much. But there were times when she had to venture on the road and drove, yes, like an old lady. She hated the fact that she did, and was horribly embarrassed by all the aggravation she knew she caused the other drivers.

Nowadays, when I see an old woman driving down the road and screwing up the traffic, and I start to get angry, I just think, "She's someone's grandmother." Calms me down instantly.

I think it has more to do with life style. I mean one night my mom only a year or so ago raced down the highway funny thing is that the police had a hard time keeping up with her and she didn't notice them for a long time (she was driving a super charged Olds) got clocked goving over 200 KPH). Thus if you stay active and stuff you will age more slowly.

I never bothered to look, but my father has used very derogative terms towards not only old lady drivers, but also old men.

I've seen them, they drive pretty slow. Sometimes they drive 10 miles under the speed limit, it annoys my Dad alot. Wasn't their a law that said that once you reached a certain age that you had to stop driving? Or am I just crazy?

I think it's just old people in general. A lot of them drive veeeeeery slooooowly. We're talking going 40 when the speed limit is 70. Plus many of them seem to have huge cars, which makes it a pain to get around them.

My grandmother drove like an old lady... I remember one time she managed to take up a grand total of four parking spaces at once at Wal-Mart.

No, what they do (at least where I am) is test old people regularly to see if they are still fit to drive. If you go to the Driver Examination centre, you may see a lot of old people ready to take driving tests.

Old ladies are a hazzard on the streets especially the ones talking on cell phones! It's enough they drive like turtles where I 'm from. Now, they yak on the phone too not paying any attention while they are DRIVING! I do not know who is worse...young teens on the loose or old people. I guess it comes down to the same thing in the end.

Well, I can add this much: In New York City, northern New Jersey, and (as seen a few times while traveling) in Houston, TX, young people, old people and in-between people on the loose are driving as if Charles Manson depended on it! There's no sensation in the motoring world quite like seeing a mad expressway driver cut across three or four lanes on several seconds' notice, with just a few feet to spare in front of you...premature grey hair, anyone?
