Any Retired Cereal and Snack Items You Liked Eating?

    Like This Thread!
I'm going have to restart this excellent thread since it got deleted by the TZ blackout.

Do you guys mind if I ask you about retired cereals you liked?
If I were to pick a retired cereal or snack item I missed a lot, it ought to be those Cap'n Crunch's Choco Donuts.

How about you, any cereals you missed eating?

I used to love Caravan chocolate bars. It had caramel and a kind of white cream filling in them, kind of like the same stuff as cadbury creamy eggs.

I also love Voortman's christmas cookies but they stopped producing my favorites a few years ago. They were pretzel shaped shortbread cookies with white icing and red and green sprinkles. Man, I miss those. Now I have to settle for their dutch chocolate cookies.

I loved Oreo O's. I always wanted my parents to buy them but they always said "no". I ended up getting a box from a friend.

I used to eat Hershey's cookies and cream bars all the time, but they've got a good bit of trans fat and I'm trying to avoid it. They're not retired, but they don't have as big of a marketing effort as they used to (at Hershey Park, the height categories are by candy bar, and CC used to be the top level. I believe Twizzlers replaced it).

I can never find Chocolate Toaster Strudel anymore. Those were always my favorite.

Anyone recall eating Pop Tarts cereal? All the delicious taste of Pop Tarts without the convenience of eating them on the go.

    Still great, though.

Yeah, I had Pop Tarts cereal once, when I was a kid in the 90's.

One retired food item that I really liked was Dr. Slice soda, which was basically Pepsi's version of Dr. Pepper. I thought Dr. Slice was better than Dr. Pepper, but unfortunately, Pepsi discontinued the drink, in 1998.

Oh well, it's not that big of a deal to me now, since I don't drink soda very often.

I remember Keeblers Opera Cream Cookies. My dad used to get them for my sister and I back when the both of us were really young. Those were pretty much above all other cream cookies in quality. Shame they were discontinued as they apparently had/have a huge following.

I loved Dino Pebbles. It was like a vanilla Fruity Pebbles with Marshmallows. The Pebbles brand has never been able to replicate it since (the new cupcake pebbles comes close). Honestly the closest thing I've found is the Publix Brand version of Lucky Charms.

    Also, Cookies & Cream Twix.

Speaking of Flinstones cereals! My all time favorite cereal is/was Marshmallow Mania. Unfortunately they stopped selling that years ago.

I also thought the uh-oh oreos (the ones with white cookie and chocolate filling) were tastier than the originals.

EDIT: I just remembered some more! S'mores cereal and vanilla Coke! I'm not sure if they'd completly stopped selling the vanilla Coke, but they're pretty uncommon now.

Vanilla Coke and Vanilla Coke Zero are common where I get groceries--both in Atlanta and Boston.

P.B. Crisps from Planters. I generally gravitate towards the peanut butter snack treats, except Reese's Pieces, and this one was my most favorite.

I don't remember the brand, but somebody made some carbonated green tea beverage a few years back. I don't think it was an energy drink but it came in a can like one. Those were so good.

No cereals that I can think of at the moment.

I miss peanut butter Twix. I don't like caramel.

In the late-80s or early-90s (whenever it was around), I developed a borderline-obsession -- in a fun, goofy way -- to Keebler's O'Boisies potato chips. I loved their salty crunchiness. Then after a few years they just disappeared. A couple years ago I read something online that seemed to suggest they were actually still available as just a regional product in O'Boise, Idaho (where I guess they were originally made), but have yet to get solid confirmation.

Hmm, I've lived in Boise most of my life, but I don't remember these being a big deal. Of course, I was too young to remember them during their heyday in the late 80's/early 90's(I also didn't move to Boise until '92), but I haven't heard anything in more recent years either.

There is this article from a radio station in Northern Idaho that claims they were available in Boise area stores in the summer of 09, so I don't know. I sure don't remember seeing them in my trips to Albertson's or Fred Meyer.

Yeah, that was the same page I found awhile back, but I couldn't find out anything else. I was all set to add Boise to my next road trip if it was true.

Crunchy Jax Cheese Twists. They still sell the baked kind, however.
