Actually, that title is false. If this is the onlyway I can get you guys to read the rules, then so be it. I've had to send out wanrings to more posters that I wanted to today and yesterday. It's getting tiring that I have to keep warning and giving chances becuase they "didn't read the rules". Well - no more. As of know, if you haven't read the rules, then it's your responsibility to read them. No more hiding behind that defense. You break the rules, you will be banned.

I don't know about you, but this is embarrassing to me and insulting to you. Embarrassing to me becuase after alll the hard work that is put into this site, people still try to dog it by insulting and breaking the rules. Insulting to you becuase the vast majority of you are smart, intelligent folks and shouldn't have to hear this. You know not to post deep personnel stuff. This is a public forum, not a place to air your dirty laundry. But since I continueously have to warn folks about the rules, it's obvious that some of you folks are not listening, which just boggles my mind.

I respect everyone here. I respect your opinions, your thoughts, and your comments. I love all that stuff, which you can obviously tell as I post a wild streak about everyday. But when someone breaks the rules willingly, that's when I lose respect for the person. I've stated probably close to one hundred times to always follow the rules. Respect the rules and the rules will respect you. It's as simple as that.

Break the rules, and they'll come back and bite you in the arse. I don't take very kindly to people who willingly break the rules for their own pleasure and upset people. I don't think anyone likes those kind of people and I hate thinking that there are posters on these boards like that. I try and treat everyone fairly here, and no one gets special treatment. Whether you be newbie or vet, there's no leeway when the rules are broken. Heck, even we moderators gotta keep in line becuase we are posters just like you. If you prick us, do we not bleed?


Anyways, I'm just telling you this now, becuase it seems like good timing. We've had a stelar first month. I've only had to give warnings to 4 people (one of whom which was banned) and that's not too shabby. I just think that everyone should review the rules and make sure they know the ins and outs. But the rules are just common knowledge, in my opinion. I ahte banning people and sending off warnings, but I will do it, as will my fellow mods, if we have to. Simple as that.

I hope I haven't bored you to death. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. I would like to see replies to this thread so I know people are reading it.

I recieved a few complaints about the lighter, common, more subtle types of descrimination and things like that. I sent out a couple emails but got no response. So please go to the rules page and make sure you know and understand each one writen. But more importantly, keep an eye out for each other. I know you want to respect each others opinions and keep from being insulting no matter what a poster might think or feel.

The rules page REALLY needs to be easier to find on this site. At the top, you have control panel, register, etc, and I suppose it might be under registration, but if you are an existing memeber wanting to brush up on the rules to make sure you remember your ps and qs, it won't let you go there. I can't find it anywhere. On the old boards, GUIDELINES was at the top with all that other stuff and VERY easy to find.

For all the posters that access the boards through the WF site, then the rules are unmissable. For the rest, well it's yout duty to find the rules. It's pretty obvious that there are sites attached to these boards, so it shouldn't be hard to find the rules. Also, the new layout for the boards is still being tweaked and figure dout. We're still trying to find a place for the rules. BUT even if you don't see the rules, or find them easily, you know that there are rules to follow and should ask or seek them out yourself. Like I said, if you don't read the rules, they will come and bite ya in the arse soner or later. Sooner for some folks as we've already found out these past couple of months.

I think calhoun07 makes a good point. Yeah, the rules are unmissable if the boards are accessed thru the main page, but I also think we've established to DG's satisfaction (and vexation) that not everyone pays attention to the attached WF site.

In the past few days we've had questions/issues about (a) rules, (b) "Unmasked", (c) the uncut ROTJ, which in turn have led the patient but exasperated DG to wonder aloud (for the nth time) if anyone knows about the newspage and other WF resources. Instead of 2 or 3 "Important" notices at the top, what about a permanent "Important: FAQ" up there for things like this?

'course, we don't want to overburden the mods, and if I'm going to put forward the idea, I guess I'd volunteer some of my time to help put together such a FAQ.

I think the people who posted here for the switch over should still follow the rules, and they should know about them. I was talking with one of the webmasters today and we're getting a revie wlink up ASAP. Although that wil mean some change sin the banning likely, since the rules will be right here on every screen...

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I was thinking that this thread isn't going to be seen by as many people as you had hoped, DG. Not everybody owns a DVD player, so this kind of thread will have a limited appeal. Just a thought, seeing that you wanted the max number of people to see it.

It's played it's part. Combining the 'views' on all 3 boards, about an estimated 100 - 200 have seen this post, so it's done it's part, I think. Plus it's Animation & DVD, which hopefully will be enoiugh for the vast majority of the folks to see it.

I would just like to make a comment about the rules. You see...you are not supposed to do post bombing, which is like mail bombing. That is when you post the same thing on many boards, I understand you are a moderator, but maybe you could've posted them at different times instead of all at once. Also, you did that with Happy Canada Day, you posted that on more then one board as well. Thats 1 rule broken. The second rule broken is, false titleing, I don't believe your supposed to do that, by deceiving people to get to read your post. It is exactly like lieing. Also, I don't think 1 warning is good enough, maybe 2, it should be dealt with by the case. I have 1 warning because of a word, when there was nothing wrong with it. I was not using it in a vulgar, or dis-tasteful manner. And how come you are the only moderator passing out warnings and bannings, like so? None of the other moderators are. I personally think the web master, Harley, should be the one to deal with bannings. Not just a moderator. But thats my opinion, and remember these thigns are only opinions Dick. I saw those posts by other people on last night. (that was rather late, where i am somewhere in the AM's) And today they are gone. They are only opinions, not facts. They can not be supported as everyone has learned in 4th grade or so. The difference between fact and opinion. Now, I'm just guessing those posts were taken down by you. Not everyone goes to all the boards. There is nothing wrong with posting the rules on all three boards, rules are rules. False titleing may be wrong but hey it works, as DG said that's what will make peeps read them.

Why is DG the only one doing banning stuff? 'cause he is the head honcho of the moderators of the worlds finest boards. He caught the offending posts first. If another moderator had been on they would have done the same.

So you're saying you want Harley to watch over every single board on toonzone? That's quite a bit of work and would put more work on the moderators who would have to wait until she was on to ban an offender.

Those posts you mentioned, I saw a few before I logged off last night. They were dissing DG in front of everyone. That's not very nice now is it? If I had the power I would have killed those posts the moment after I saw them.

You got a generic email. Well I don't know what it says but I'm assuming that it says something 'bout DG actually replying when he gets the time. As a moderator he probably gets a lot of emails 'bout the site and boards. He doesn't want peeps to get mad if he doesn't reply right away. If not that that then it's just 'cause he doesn't have all the time in the world.

One warning should be enough. Two warnings is kinda pushing it, generally people just give others another chance. Giving another is allowing them to step on you some more.

I'm sorry if I sound mean but the last few newbie's have just been POing me with the way they're talking and making accusations that are just rude.

I did it becuase not everyone posts on all the boards. Some posters stick to the Batman Beyond board, Justice League, etc. I did this to cover all grounds. And I realized I was doing this, but I thought nothing of it becuase I was posting something essential to the boards - the rules. As for the 'Happy Canada Day' post, the same thing.

Actually, there is no official rule of this, and it's been done before. I did this to draw attention to the board to read the post. This was done for the better of the posters, so they could actually see the rules. This wans't done to make money, or for my personel gain. It was to get people to read the rules. I know, from 3 years of experience moderating these boards, that people tent to shy away from posts dealing with rules or important board messages. This was the only way and I don't regret it, and won''t. My conscious is clear. While it was misleading, it was necesarry.


come you are the only moderator passing out warnings and bannings, like so? None of the other moderators are. I personally think the web master, Harley, should be the one to deal with bannings. Not just a moderator.

I deal them out because I'm the first to catch them. If Inque or Nightwing saw it first, you'd get a warning from them. Harley looks over the Toonzone boards, these are the World's Finest boards. While she may be the site webmaster, she gave myself, and my 4 mods, the moderatoing power for these boards. You'll notice she does a great job moderating and amdining the TZ Boards. If you go to http://forums.toonzone.net, you'll see that specific mods are assigned to specific boards.

I've been modding these boards since day one, with a brief break. I will continue to do so. I've gotten few complaints and alot of 'thanx' for how I run these boards. I enforce the rules and make sure that they are followed. While I may brea a rule here and there, I do it for the better of the boards. Whether you agree with me is up to you, but I do as I see fit. My fellow mods agree with my methods, as do the vast majority of the posters here.

As for those posts, lt's see how you fel when you see posts like that directed towards you. How they said I stole their life. How I'm a negative influence. How I lie, cheat, and steal. How I'm a fake and phony. How I do a poor job. When you get a post like that directed towards you, tell me how you fell and what you'd do. I found these offensive towards me, and th eboard. And dissing a mod is an immediate banning, and they went above and beyond plain dissing.

This is a friendly board, and maybe if you lightened up some there wouldn't be as much...well.........what should I call it, revolt? uprising? from members.

Actually, there never has been one. The only 'resistence' i get are banne dposters who've snuck back on to get back at me. Thes eboards may have a had a flame war or two, or had snut posted by certain posters, but there has never been uprising. If people don't like how I do things, then they don't have to post here. I use my best judgment to moderate, and I follow it. If someone has a complaint about it, then it should be emailed, not splashed dover the boards to humiliate me infront of my fellow friends.

And I do pay attention to my email. I reply to thoughtful email I get. I don't know what email standards you have, but I do my best. I pay attention to every single email that crosses my inbox - junk or not.

I agree with her on this. You've been a mod since day 1 (Way before I ever got here). I understand posting the rules message on all forums, but why did you have to give them false names? It was kinda cute but by doing that it also had the possibility of being ignored. You were sending warnings out to people and those are the ones who really need to be reading the rules.

I think you should also cut down on double/triple posts, you've done it twice since the new boards and since you're a moderator you should be an example to us all, not to mention you warn those who do this. I have no idea why Happy Canada couldn't be put in the General Forum.

From here on in, I'll watch what posts I post multiple times. As for the warnings, I'll get that more centralized next time, towards the people it's intended. Thanx for the suggestions and I will definatly use them! A way to get comments taken seriously is to not jam them down my throat or chew me out, but just be nice and cool about it, like good ol' Vigo here. Don't worry -- I'm not gonna ban ya or rag you out for suggesting them. I like feedback, and I'm always open to it! If anyone has more suggestions, please email them to me!

If yer wondering why Xaiver and Peace Keeper are banned, it's becuase Peace Keeper, Xaiver, JustWhelmed, MrEd, and westendprimerib are the same person. I just thought I'd also post this here incase anyone was wondering when sifting through their posts.
