    Do you Beleive in Aliens/UFO's

    Like This Thread!
The third thread in the series. I want to be clear on this one. I'm not talking "there must be something out there" or "alien bacteria". I want to talk about aliens, real intelligent life, and UFOs. And so, once again, it's time to talk!

I believe in UFO's as much as I believe in Bigfoot and Nessie. I don't see there could skeptics for this one though. There are way too many videos, photos and crop circles for this to not be real. But I know for some reason, there will still be doubters.

The crop circles are fake. The people who did those confessed a long time ago.

    UFO = Unidentified Flying Object.

It is a massive leap of faith to go from something in the sky we don't quite know what it is to craft manufactured and piloted by sentient species from other planets (and if they actually are Greys or Lizard-men or Nordics Scientist are going to have to do alot of apologizing to the intelligent design people).

Oh and SETI is as much as a labor of faith as it is a scientific inquiry.

But hey at least we got this out of the deal (and while we're on the subject this).
"Burning Man"? I think you mean "Burning Urethra" -- that place is a massive colony of venereal diseases being nurtured by their human servants. -zombie

True. However, many crop circles are too complex to fake. Many are man-made. Others, I'm not so sure.

The odds are, most likely, that there is intelligent life out there. If they have ever visited our planet, I'm still doubtful, but you never know.

I believe, obviously, that people see flying objects they can't identify. These are, by definition, UFOs.

I also believe that it's statistically likely that there are other worlds that support life and that intelligent life as advanced or more advanced than ours might arise there.

I'm not for sure that we can say things that people see in the sky are alien spacecraft. Even for the ones that aren't explainable as natural phenomenon, there's still no reason to say, oh yeah, that's a spacecraft. It could be what demons from hell look like, for all we know.

I don't believe there's real, convincing scientific proof that alien spacecraft are visiting our earth, at least none that has been revealed to the general public.

And even if they are spacecraft, I don't buy into all this new agey crap about brothers and visitors who want to expand our consciousness. That seems like a colossal case of wishful thinking to me. It's likely that creatures that evolved on another planet would have a values system and way of understanding so different than ours that to us it would be as if they had no compatible values or interests at all when it came to humans. They might think of us as nothing more than food or scientific subjects or even in terms that we would have no hope of understanding.

There's an argument that any creature significant advanced to travel about the galaxy would have to be peaceful, beneficent and wise to reach that state, but if you look around our world we also have great technological achievements and we use a big portion of them to kill each other and often fail to use the rest to help our fellow man when he's in need.

It's possible that our species would be close enough that we could bridge the gaps between us, but it's silly to assume those gaps wouldn't be there.

But I'd like to think that it was possible and that we could eventually find other intelligent species to share the stars with, because otherwise it's a big, lonely universe out there.

Do I believe in aliens? Sure.

Do I believe in UFOs? Of course.

Do I believe that aliens are IN the UFOs? No.

Yeah, I believe in UFOs, just like I believe in other forms of life out in space. I'm sure if I believe that any of them have actually landed here on Earth. I'm sure that people believed that they saw something that they couldn't identify, but I'm not sure if that object would land like that in some crops. Still, I think that they're out there somewhere.

I don't know. There is probably life on other planets out there. The universe is so vast, chances are it's out there SOMEWHERE. It's amazing that there's life on this planet, so maybe not, but I'd like to believe that somewhere out there, there's something else. However, it's probably not on Mars, or any of the usual theories. It's probably so far away we'll never make contact with it. Or at least not in the near future. But, again, I don't know. It could be out there. It could not be. It could have visited earth. It could not have. I'm not sure.

I dont think people quite understand just how vast the universe is. Just to put it in context, our own galaxy has like at least over 100 billion stars. If even half of those stars have a solar system with eight planets then.................................. yeah dude im pretty sure theres SOMETHING out there lol.

Kind of depends on what you mean.

Do I believe in UFOs? Well, a UFO is simply an unidenfified flying objects. So of course there are occasionally objects in the sky that people can't identify.

Do I believe in aliens? Well, I don't really have a "belief" in them but probability would seem to suggest that there's intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.

Do I believe there are alien lifeforms flying around on earth? No. That seems extremely unlikely.
The world's 225 richest people now have a combined wealth of $1 trillion. That's equal to the combined annual income of the world's 2.5 billion poorest people.

    Something to think about.

I one time had an astronomy professor who explained to our class that so many conditions had to be present to create life on earth that it would be completely improbable that so many conditions would be present on another planet. He also pointed out that life has existed on the earth for only a fraction of the length of time the universe has existed. If there were to be life on another planet, he analogized it to a bunch of lights. Every so often, one of the lights would flash on briefly and then flash off. The likelihood that two of the lights would flash on at the same time and be in close enough proximity for one to travel to the other would be ridiculously small.

I believe in other life forms existing outside our own planet if that constitutes as believing in aliens, but from research/evidence I've seen I'm not convinced UFO's exist.

Considering the vastness of the universe, I'd consider it even freakier if there wasn't any other intelligent life in the cosmos.

That said, I sincerely doubt such life would cross the vast inky void just to ooh and ahh over our rectums.

One thing that throws most encounter stories into doubt is the fact that the aliens in question are always described as being vaguely humanoid. Greys, lizard men and Nordics seem to owe more to 50s sci-fi movies then any plausible model of alien biology.

a unique set of evolutionary factors contributed to the human form as we know it to day. To chances of such factors coming together on an alien world to produce roughly the same outcome is akin to winning the lottery twice in a row with the same ticket.

If alleged aliens looked more like this, I'd take them more seriously.

I think aliens do exist, because honestly the universe is so huge that the Earth can't possibly be the only planet with life. However, I think alien life would look more like ourselves than the deformed monster like creatures the media puts out there.
