Sports - Do you Play One?

    Like This Thread!
Now here's a thread were you can tell us what sport you play (I you do).
Feel free to post down accomplishments, goals, and upcomming events.

As for me, I'm a swimmer. My club is small, but we have a lot of talent and we get along well with each other. In fact, the 4 seinor guys on our team all go to 4 different schools, but we are the best of friends.
Next week is the 13&Over Long Course State Championships. I'm going to go but only for realys (all 5 of them).
My goal of next season is to make Y-Nationals with my teammates.

Swimming, gilrs in swim suits, and guys who aren't afraid to show off their body.

I don't play much sports right now(Though I should.... ) but when I was younger I used to play soccer, racket ball, tennis, and gymnastics. But I do enjoy bowling every now and then with my family. Bowling is actually my most favorite sport though I don't get any exercise from it...

I actually played a whole bunch of different sports before I started swimming.

I played: Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Gymnastics, and Bolwing.

Baseball: I was young and not that athletic yet.
Basketball: I was WAY too short, but I grew a little bit
Soccer: I can only run sprints, 60min is too long.
    Tennis: No top spin.
Golf: Too expensive for my parents
Gymnastics: I'm not flexable at all
Bolwing: I bowled for many years, but swimming became too much of a comitment, so I had to stop. My avg. is about 165.

But playing so many sports has really helped me to be competive and I'm a great athlete now.

I play softball at the NAIA college level and am on scholarship this year.

I've been playing softball for 15 years, was All-State 3 out of 4 years in high school, and my junior year was voted one of the best nine softball players in the state. So yeah, softball is my thing.

I like tennis too and would have liked to play in high school, but it was at the same time as softball.

I used to play soccer and basketball years ago. Sometimes, I'll still shoot some hoops in my front yard.

I swam and took lessons for 8 years until I eventually quit. I'd join the school team but I don't have time anymore. I can't dedicate myself to practice every single day and weekend like they do.
I'm still a pretty good swimmer though.

You're right, Swimming is HUGE. I barelly have any friends outside of swimming. But at least I get to see my swimming friends 6 days and 20 hours and week. (yea, we practice that much)

My friend is on the guys team and NEVER has time for anything during the season. It's frusterating because we end up canceling plans constantly. The good thing is, is that because of it he's got a job as a lifeguard and gets paid pretty damn well.

Yea, my first lifeguard job paid $7.75/hr, but I was only getting like 5 hours a week or less, so I quit.
Even my friends have been canceling everything. We were supposed to watch Monte Python like 3 weeks ago, but we still haven't. The only thing they can commit to is my b-day party ('cause they know my parties rock out loud)

I played baseball and soccer frequently when I was younger, and it was a lot of fun. The trophies are a nice reminder of days long past.

Nowadays, I'm not on any specific teams, but I still like to play baseball, soccer, and volleyball with friends whenever I get the chance.

Aye. My sister and a few other of my friends are on the high school swim team...and I don't know how they do it. Waking up at 5 a.m. and staying 'til 7:00 p.m. five days a week is a bit too much in my book.

As for me, I run cross country and track, although you don't really 'play' those sports very much. This past spring I was also in a basketball league with some friends.

I only have to wake up at 5:00am two days a week, and I have double practices those days. Honesty, I don't know how I do it either.

Well, I can pretty much play any sport at a decent-great level. I love golfing (especially the driving range ) and bowling is awesome too. Me and about 10-20 people usually go about once a month, and it's so much fun. I'm best at baseball, and I have played for 12 years (since I was 5). I was on Varsity this year, and made All State Div. I team. Next year, I'd say that my goal is to be captain of the team. I'm a pitcher, and I throw in the mid-upper 80's, and usually I leadoff. When I'm not pitching I either play third base, or shortstop.

This summer, baseball ended in June, so I've been kind of bored (I wasn't here at the time that senior babe ruth or legion baseball was doing registration and tryouts ....) so I've been doing church softball. Basically they think that I'm a major league player because I get a homerun everytime I'm up at bat (250 feet isn't nearly as far as 350 feet, so it's much easier). So yeah, I'd say that I love sports.

I compete on the ameture submission wrestling circuit. I just started a few months ago though, so I'm still a n00b. Only started training with a good gym (after leaving my college club) last month.
