I play the usual game of Magic and Anachronism every couple of months. but i actually work for Pokemon USA and run events for the Pokemon TCG, so yea, i do spend a lot of time in Hobby stores and playing Pokemon TCG.
Hola, senors!
I was just wondering if there were any other gaming (not video gaming) zombies on these boards. I currently play the Marvel and DC TCGs (very fun AND interchangable! Imagine an X-Men--Teen Titans team up...) and Magic: the Gathering. In addition I'm also a casual Star Wars Minis and Heroclix player. That's not even including the board games I love so much!
So, are there any other gaming nuts on the boards?

Magic: The Gathering, Battletech, Settlers of Catan, Plauge and Pestilence, Gullitine, Civilzation (the Boardgame), and many more speicalised games I play at the school's gaming club.

Well I used to play D&D. Still got my vintage late 70's minatures to boot.
I was just messing around with my cards a few miutes ago.
I only play Magic:The Gathering. I don't think my wallet can risk another hobby.![]()

I've gone off PLAYING M:TG and now I find more fun in making custom cards via Magic Set editor
I've played quite a bit of M:TG in the past and the Game of Thrones Card Game as well. For a while I was playing CCGs every weekend but I played too much and got a bit bored, so I'm taking a break. I've also been trying to get a Dungeons and Dragons campaign going but unfortunately I'm a self taught DM and I end up having to spend too much time checking the rulebooks.
Lately I've been playing the Game of Thrones Board Game which is quite strategic and enjoyable.

I got hooked on Magic a couple years ago, but I don't play it very often. I'm not a good deck-builder. But I'm always up for a good board game, be it Monopoly, Risk, Chess, Settlers of Cataan, Carcassonne, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Munchkin, Fluxx, Gloom, etc. My old college had a club that met bi-weekly to play community games like those and I met so many people. It was great. Now all I see around me are people who'd rather waste all their free time on World of Warcraft.![]()
Spent most of my formative years playing RPG's (mainly Marvel Super Heroes, DC Heroes, Dark Conspiriacy, Star Trek, Dragon Warriors and Cyber Punk) as well as a few tabletop stragegy games/combat sims like Warhammer, Star Trek Starship Tactical Combat Simulator and Laser Burn. As a knock on effect I have stacks of metal miniatures stashed in the loft!
Now-a-days I don't get to RPG at all, but I do play Heroclix on a semi-regular basis.
I think role-playing played a majot part of my development. As I spent most of my teenage years GMing, I now find, as an adult, that the same formulative process has led me to write fiction.
Any ex/current GMs feel it helped/helps the same way?

I know what you mean. Ever played a game called "ZOMBIES!!!"? You can get it on Amazon. VERY fun and great if you have a sick sense of humor! Also, is Betrayal at House on the Hill good? I've heard nice things about it.Originally Posted by Temple Fugate
In a way, it really did. I never did many things with rules in RPGs (no one was really interested in playing DICE RPGs.) What I did was make up a story and just tell it as an RPG, making adjustments as needed. No dice involved, no rules (besides keeping it fair) and it really helped me on my way to becoming a good writer. BTW, Frozen, what kind of fiction do you write?Originally Posted by Frozen

I've not had the chance to play Zombies!, but it looks like fun. House is a cool game if you're into horror movies. It basically uses every single convention you could possibly think of in a traditional horror film, from werewolves to a house come alive to viscious rat invasions. It has its flaws. Certain scenareos you play make it way too hard for one team or the other, but it's definitely got replayability because there are sixty different stories to discover, and the mansion's layout is completely random every time you play. Overall it's a very clever and creative game.Originally Posted by Agent S7
Couldn't agree more. Most times I didn't bother to learn most of the rules - just the setting and character generation. Then I usually just tailored the events to suit what I saw as a ripping yarn!Originally Posted by Agent S7
As for the writing, I write fantasy/sci-fi short stories, usually - but recently I've been writing a few comics, and, eventually, I want to work on a super-hero series!
And you?
