I just started my first semester as a grad student in linguistics ... I'm SO happy!!! =) Sure, now that I'm no longer working in the corporate world I pretty much have to scrape and save if I want to buy so much as a pair of shoelaces - but feh, money isn't everything ... I hope ...

Anyway - this semester I'm taking a basic "Survey of Linguistics" course, an "Anthropological Inquiries" one where we're studying the major trends in anthropology, and a "Topics in Bilingualism" course in which we're examining some of the causes and implications of bilingualism ... They're so ... darned ... INTERESTING!! =) I think it took the entire first week before I could wipe the big goofy grin off my face. And! I get to teach this semester, too - I'm leading 3 sections of a Public Speaking course; it's the first time I've ever taught at the college level and - oh, wow - I'm absolutely loving it. It's like playing school as a kid, only with REALLY top-quality props and honest-to-goodness students ... whee!

    Hooray for school! =)

LightShadow and I are going back to school next Fri, but we still have to go there next Thursday for new lockers, new schedules, etc. But it's only for a few hours.
And yes! We're sophmores now! YAY!

CoolSSJEnergy and me went to school last week, the 29th. 8th graders! Nothing much new. We're learning Geometry instead of Algebra. So many Postulates and Theorems and all those definition stuff to memorize. We got a new science teacher. And we're taking Economics. Other than that nothing much has changed sinced last year. Oh and we graduate in 182 more days!
Make the best of it. No one can buy memories that last a life time...

I'll be a senior this year, starting on the 6th.

I'm in the International Baccalaureate program. The fact that most of you have probably not heard of it is a testament to what a waste of time the past couple of years have been.

I went back to college on the 30th. Why they couldn't wait until after Labor Day to start, I'll have no idea... anyway...

On the very first day of classes, I found out that I really couldn't take a certain class until I had a prerequisite first. This was kind of annoying, since it doesn't state in the course catalog that you have to. Regardless, I dropped that class and signed up for the prerequisite. Only problem is, the prerequisite conflicted with ANOTHER class I was taking, so I had to drop THAT one too and sign up for a second one.

All this on the first day of class!

    So right now I'm taking...
    MWF Advanced Public Speaking 12:30-1:40
    MW Video Production II 2:50-4:50
    TR Persuasion 8:30-10:10 AM
    Methods of Communication 12:35-2:15

Looks like I still only need 11 credits to graduate in the spring.

    I returned to school in 8/22 and I'm now in Pre-school I.

    - Calendar class
    - English class (this week we saw the colors)
    - Psychomotricity
    - Music class
    - Cooking class (aka how to spread butter on a slice of bread).
    - Spanish class (we are seeing the vowels right now).
    - Play time.

I'm not kidding, this is what I did at school this week... because I teach at a pre-school .

Well, like Mahou said, school starts at the 9th, but we have to come for a few hours on the 8th for new lockers, ID cards, bus passes, schedules....etc. I'm a sophmore now, so teachers aren't going to like me as much as they did last year. Curse those sophmores who make fun of the poor Frosh and have their heads up in the clouds...wish they went to hell...

Oh sorry! Where was I again?

Here's the classes that I'm taking:

    Chemisty Honors
    Geometry
    Spanish III
    English 10
    Global History II
    PE Soph.
    Religon 10

    Electives:
    Honors Orchestra
    Music Lessons
Prep Chorus (one of the chorus classes at school....I'm one of their pianists)

I've met the teachers which would probably be my teachers this year...except for English 10. Since my Algebra teacher teaches Geometry, I'm hoping I'll have her (I can't say the same for my Global History I teacher...he stopped teaching Global History II last year ...cuz he hates sophies).

The good thing is that school starts on a Friday...and a pep rally's on a vacation. *chuckles* :anime:

Hey, nothing wrong with that; if I were to learn spanish and such, this would be the best way for me to learn, too - right from the very beginning.

So...uh...what is "psychomotricity", exactly? For some reason I'm thinking it's a fancy way of saying "physical education" or "human kinetics", but I'm likely way off.

I got back to school 8/17.

    Japanese Hon. III
    PE Soph. - Second Semester
    Chemistry
    US History Themes
    Hon. Algebra 2
    English 10
    Hon. Geometry

    Electives for Second Semester:

So far, I'm really enjoying sophomore year of High School. This year all the new sophomores got transfered from the Freshman campus to the actual High School so I got to meet and become friends with a lot of upperclassmen.

That's exactly it's meaning :P. It's the word pre-schools use for "Gym Class" (at least the ones I work at).

I don't even remember what sort of "organized sports" I played during my psychomotricity class in kindergarten or pre-school.
