What do you dislike more, drunk driving or smoking?

I hate drinking & driving so much I can't even describe my hatred for it. I just cannot stand it when people do that. They don't think about their own lives and anyone else on the road that can be killed. What's even sadder is that usually the drunk driver lives and the person they hit dies.

I can't say I hate smokers. I know some people that do smoke. Cigarretes can be annoying but it won't kill you, at least, not in a short term.

i don't see how you can really compare the two since one is legal to do (after age 18 that is) and one is not. of course drunk driving is much worse. when drunk, a person loses some of their motor skills thus increasing the risk of a car accident. that accident can seriously injure or even kill and innocent bystander. usually, people who smoke have the common courtesy to go outside and do so, thus getting rid of any relative harm to others... still can't see how the two compare. sorry

I strongly oppose drunk driving and smoking as well, as well as narcotics. Those all have very bad effects on society.

Drunk driving. The reprecussions of something that happens while drivng drunk (death, jailtime, etc.) are far worse than smoking. Drunk driving spreads so far beyond the driver and the victim(s). A whole community can be hurt. Smoking, well yeah, if you get cancer or something else it hurts you and a lot of others, but that's a matter of (what I think is) a poor personal choice. For the record, I don't dislike smokers, just the habit. I agree with Blue Falcon, the two really can't be compared.

Drunk Driving is worse than smoking. A car is like a loaded weapon: you can kill someone with it. When people drink and drive, they not only put their lives at risk, they put everyone on the road at risk.

Smoking is still bad though.

Both are bad, but drunk driving is worse. At least you look cool when you're smoking. A drunk is just dangerous and dumb lookin.

Drunk driving sorta shows insane recklessness and has been known to kill a hell of a lot of people. Smoking's just...smoking. Annoying, addictive, and deadly, but you're not in charge of a machine that can very easily cause the death of yourself and other human beings if you're not careful with it. So, yeah, drunk driving.

I can't stand smoking, (I can't help it I start coughing if someone's smoking) but I think drunk driving is worse. There have been so many accidents where I live from kids that were driving when they were drunk. =/

How is this even a question? Like someone said, not only is drunk driving illegal but it can kill a) Pedestrians b) the drunk diver/passengers c) everyone invloved.
All smoking does is make non smokers cough or annoyed.

Drunk driving is easily a far more despicable activity; it puts EVERYONE in IMMEDIATE danger, including yourself. That is one thing I will never do - and if anyone does drive drunk, and gets caught, they should go to jail. Immediately. It's an act of stupidity.

Smoking is pretty stupid, too - I mean, I've tried it, I didn't find it gross, but I thought it was pointless - but at least you're USUALLY only affecting yourself. (Yes, there's the whole issue of second hand smoke - and in that case, I feel sorry for small children whose parents smoke. That IS unfair.)

No matter how you slice it, this question is like choosing the lesser of two evils.

I think both are the most despicable things on earth, both endanger lives and both are very uncomfortable situations to be around with. How some people can drive home after they have had so many drinks and how some can ruin their lungs with so many cigarettes in one day is beyond me. So yeah don't drink and drive people, it really ticks me off and so do cigarrettes.

I can't stand either. Smoking destroys a persons lungs and increases the chances of cancer quickly while drunk driving results in serious car accidents and death. I have a neighbor whose daughter went to my high school. In her graduation year she was killed by a drunk driver late one night. The incident was a tragedy that was felt by the whole neighborhood.
