I know he did.But I started this thread today...
"Don't forget us when you're famous!"
It's a good thing.
I am absolutely neutral on this issue.

I won't share my thoughts on the issue here, but doesn't this sorta count as political discussion? Not trying to get it closed or anything, but I think this is probably the kind of thing you have to be careful about what you say.

More importantly, who is Sharon going to use as a punching bag now?
With simplistic comments like "It's a good thing" which sums up the whole complicated conflict there, I'm inclined to agree.Originally Posted by Czar Gata

Someone has died, and from what I saw on the news, died bravely. He left that plane to France probably knowing he would never come back. That's a horrible situation.
Regardless of your political opinion on him, he was respected by many of his people and he fought long and hard for what he believed in. What's right in politics is sometimes hard to define, nevertheless, a man has died and his death may change the whole situation in that area - for ill or for good.
I thought him being buried under a tree which protected the grave through each season was sort of cool. That's a pretty amazing tree!

Well I could go further and talk about scores of dead Israelis and Palestinians that are dead as a direct result of him, but that could devolve into political discussion, so I decided it would just be best to make the simple statement that it's good that he's dead.Originally Posted by SJJ
I view his death as a very good thing.

Now then we only have tree left
Castro, Osama, and that Crazy Korean Dictator whos name escapes me...
that's if Russia doesn't go all crazy communist again and decides to make a sequel to the Cold War

Your comment was immediately political which was my point. Pointing out it was and could have been more opinonated if you'd liked hardly makes it better.Originally Posted by Y2Bogus
Regardless of ones political views, it's a complex situation and the merits or downfalls of his death can't be summed up objectively in one simple sentence.
Amazing - is there no way to talk about someones death without having to get political or make "smart" political comments? Surely there is more to the death of any lead figure in history than political swipes? Or someones death for that matter.

I didn't get political. I said I'm happy he's dead and my only regret is that he didn't die sooner.
This is obviously a political thread. It's the death of a very controversial political leader. What's the difference between talking smack about Arafat and talking smack about Dubya?
Yeah you could, but remember that Sharon's hands are pretty darn bloody too.Originally Posted by Y2Bogus
