Opinion topic 9: What is your favorite store

    Like This Thread!
I have two favorite stores. Mine would be F.Y.E and Trademart for the anime fan in me (they sell just about every anime and everything i could ask for on DVD) and Trademart for my card needs.

I hope this thread dosen't end up reeking of advertisement esque feelings.

Wal-Mart. You can get anything but hookers there...no really, its true.

    -Stationary

This house is full of ears but I can't talk to anyone
They've heard this one a thousand times
    Most exciting thing I do
Hang half way out a third floor window,
    Maybe throw lit cigarettes down
    And maybe I'll catch fire,
    Something warm to hold me,
Something pure to burn away the darkness
    That hides inside my mind
All that evil ****'s not hard to find
I guess I only claim to be nice

For video games/DVDs, GameStop, Suncoast, and Super Target. Occasionally I'll go to Best Buy if I can't find a particular DVD anywhere else, and I usually buy my DVD-Rs from CompUSA because they sell a 5-pack for $6.99. :anime:

EDIT: I almost forgot an excellent store for vintage games and systems- Media Recyclery! Too bad there isn't one near my college...

Borders, Target, and Best Buy. I also like Hastings, but I don't have one near me.

Clothes: Pennington's - I find it hard to find decent clothing in my size, and the clothes here are good. I usually only go when they have sales on - some of their items are a bit pricey, but worth it (IMO).

Comics: Wyldstar Collectibles (local comic shop)

DVD's: I usually get my DVDs at the mall. They have CD Plus, HMV, and Zellers, so I'll compare prices between those stores. If I don't find what I want there, I'll try Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or Future Shop. I pick up most of my anime at Wyldstar, as their price is around the average of the other stores.

Manga: If I can't find what I want at Wlydstar, I order it from Chapters (book store), which is the store where I get most of my books from.

My favorite store of all time is Target... but they don't always have everything I need, so my other favorites are:

Old Navy - Half my wardrobe is Old Navy (other half is Target)
Best Buy - Unfortunately the closest one is two hours away, but we're getting one eventually
Hastings - I like to get books and magazines there, but they overcharge on CDs
    Borders - Great manga selection
Barnes and Noble - I love book stores
    Wal-Mart - It's no Target, but I like it

    Online:
Overstock.com - Get almost all my anime DVDs there
CDUniverse - Get the rest of my anime DVDs there

Borders - It's my favorite book store. I love going there. Always something going on

Target - Not a favorite per se, but I don't mind going there.

Wizzywig - A wonderful anime store! I only go there maybe once every several months, but it's great fun!

Hot Topic - Lots of great clothes, but rather pricy

Anime Chaos - Online Yahoo Japan deputy service. Lots of neat goodies you don't/can't find in the states!

    Ebay - For obvious reasons

    DVDS: Best Buy
Of all the stores I've seen, Best Buy has consistently had both the largest selection and the best prices on DVDs.

    COMPUTER ACCESSORIES: Best Buy
Best Buy is also good for computer accessories, and sometimes components. I try to buy most of my actual components at computer shows, but when I can't get to a show I'll head to Best Buy.

    BOOKS: Borders
Since I don't have any Barne's and Nobles' near me, I use Borders as my primary source of books. I'll sometimes buy CDs there as well, but I stay away from their overpriced DVD section.

    CDS: Virgin Megastore
I've only been to a Virgin twice, but I still must say its my favorite. I'm a lover of classical music, particularly boxed sets. Large boxed sets. As in, 100+ CD sets (which are usually sold in multiple volumes of 3-6 CDs). Virgin Megastore is the only physical store I've seen that has many of these sets in their entirety; other stores may have one or two volumes from one or two seperate sets, but nowhere near Virgin's selection. As can probably be told, I spend alot of money whenever I shop at a Virgin.

    EVERYTHING: Amazon.com
Of course, when I'm too lazy to head out to an actual store, I'll just type "amazon.com" in my browser. Great prices, insanely fast delivery for me (the 6-13 day option always takes 4-5 days for me), and of course a selection that far outweighs all but the largest of the large physical stores.

First I'd like to say Wal-Mart is an evil Meglomatic corporation, becoming a monopoly, taking over small towns, making business deals that nearly put other businesses out on the streets, and is going so wildly insane with their price cuts, every other store will never be able to compete. In 30 years, everything will be Wal-Mart. That's why I'm willing to shop at Target, and an old grocery store. Wal-Mart was sent to us from the devil! Plus they edit music CDs....

Hastings is my favorite media store. The BEST selection of Movies(buy or rent), music, books, and magazines. It even has PC hardware, and video games up the yin yang. No doubt about it. I only check Suncoast or Best Buy if I'm desperate.

As for cloths, I either make my own, get it as presents, or I go to Hot Topic...all their crap is so cool.

My tremendous intuitive sense of the female creature informs me that you are troubled...

You ever try to simply walk through a Wal-Mart?

I can sum it up for you with one word: "gridlock."

The ones I enjoy visiting are:
    Suncoast(when we had them)
    Best Buy
    Media Play
    Barnes and Noble
    Franklin Mint
    Toys R Us
    Kay Bee
a local hobby shop that carries paintball guns, has quite a collection of video games(new and used), card games, comic books, samurai stuff, preplayed videos and dvd's, action figures, stuff like those warhammer models, statues and busts, etc.
a local shop called HKT. It specializes in anime merchandise. A few years ago it merged with a shop that sold various Asian merchandise that had been around as long as I can remember. I like to look but I never find anything interesting enough to buy.

I used to go to EB regularly but now I don't even bother visiting.
Back in the day I would go to Lechemere's, Montgomery Wards, and Brookstone.

I never visit a gamestop or funcoland. I refuse to step on unholy ground.

It's any kind of book store that sells comics and graphic novels like Borders or Walden's Books or Barnes & Noble.
