Shocker group offends Poland

There aren't enough news threads anymore, So i'll try to do one fairly frequently. I am a journalism major, I probably should.
Shock Band Shocks People

Well, we all thought that lame era was over, but apparently alive and well. In Krakow, Poland a band has decided to go on national television with living naked people crucified, goats blood and dead animals all over the stage. They may be convicted for being offensive and possibly for cruelty to animals.

Honestly, this music genre is my type. And shocker bands were kinda cool...back when i was twelve. Marylin Manson, White/Rob Zombie and others being gross and shocking people was cool. But as I got older I began to have a distaste for it. Not because I care about religion or being offensive, I don't care what people do. But mostly I thought it was bad because these bands had really good music and they were getting famous for being offensive and not for being the talented people they were. I knew a lot of people who knew Marylin Manson's antics, but didn't know the music. I wish I could hear some of this band's music, I wonder if they're good enough that they don't need this crap.

They also have a page with mp3 bites of some of their songs found here.

I listened to a couple of the songs and...well...they were horrible, and I'm not saying that because I'm Methodist. How can anyone call this "music"? It's just a bunch of loud bangs and indiscernable guitar riffs and incoherent screaming all collected into sound bites reminiscent of an exorcism gone wrong.

If this is all they can do, then the incident in Poland was definitely a publicity stunt.

I find this sort of stuff repellant. I don't find it that shocking, I'm a pretty sick bastard when I need to be, so I'm pretty shock resistant. What bothers me is how simpleminded and fake it all is. These people would seem to have no wit or inherent uniqueness, or at least prefer to submerge it for easy shocks, that could create a far more memorable and interesting show.

In short, this is the same easy way out dozens of second-rate talentless hacks have taken before, thus I resent and despise it.

I'm not going to bother with their music, I know I won't like it.

I can't say that I've heard of Gorgoroth or their music before. As for the concert - the whole shock rock thing has been done before (and usually better) by other bands. Alice Cooper's concerts in the 70's were shocking to many, but he never had to use Satanic imagery to be effective.

Okay, i checked out their music, they're not horrible, though I wouldn't put them even close to my top ten or even 50. Probably not even 100. Their songs are pretty formulaic, although there is some obvious guitar talent, and their singer is going way too high pitched. I hate it when they do that. Looks like I won't be buying their CDs anytime soon.

That's what I said about the White stripes. I love the song Seven Nation Army (Especially the Bass. I LOVE a good Bass riff), but I seethe hatred for the voice of their singer.

As for this band.... It's just lame.

I've seen more horrifying things at work.

I think that is down right not all rude, but mean and crude to animals as well, only because they want some attention, that is just pitiful and they need to be in jail for doing such acts, I mean doing that in getting peoples attention in this contry itself would mean you would get hanged and put to death it a painful way too, and I just hope they are going to get caught soon.

Music, I've always felt, is an art that is to be digested smoothly.

Heavy Metal, and Hard and Shock rock, are the acid reflux of music.

I believe Jack White is the man behind the singing and those riffs.

Hard rock and metal is great, I mean there are too many great bands for them not to be great. But people need to stop trying to top Ozzie. It's about the music folks.

As for the act itself I think that it's horrible that woman fainted I think they should of made sure she was okay before hand. And the sheep heads are just disgusting, that's just gaahhh. How dare they put those heads on pikes like that? Do they have any respect for the dead?

I hate stupid stunts like these. It's pretty sad when someone needs to go to such extreme lengths to promote their music. If their music is good, it should speak for itself. Stupid attention seekers. Cruelty to animals on top of it all.
