"Eight Crazy Nights" DVD Talkback
DAMN! The WBC talkback for this movie was locked! (pause) Oh, well. I decided to take Delia's advice and start a discussion on the DVD.
First, I shall talk about the feature. I have to say that I really agree with Richard Roeper on his review of the movie. Despite all of the toilet gags and the product placement (I'm a guy who thinks that phony names are annoying pieces of crap, so that didn't bother me), it still had a lot of holiday spirit, and was very funny. He said that calling it South Park crossed with Jackass, like Roger Ebert called it, was a great recommendation for this movie and that is exactly what it is. The musical numbers...well...they were not at the same level as Bigger, Longer and Uncut, but were very nicely done. I really liked the "Intervention Song" and "Long Ago".
Meanwhile, the features include a nice music video of the Channukah Song and some featurettes, including one for animation transition, showing different versions of certain scenes (the mall sequence with Davey and Whitey had two other versions of Davey dumping his fries into an order reading "Bite Me", both were death threats to poor Whitey).
Overall, great, funny movie, nice DVD.
I think Scooby-Doo is knida over-rated and all of the HB Dogs should be praised.
Wouldn't it be great if their could be more Peanuts specials on DVD?
It was just what my career needed - I was at the top and now I'm at the bottom.
