    Batman/green Hornet Dvds???

    Like This Thread!
Have there been any rumblings of either series getting DVD treatment?
I know the movies are available.

I'm guessing w/ all the comic book movies coming out (Spidey, X-Men, Hulk, DD, Ghost Rider, Extraordinary Gentlemen, Blade, Hellboy...and of course Superman ) eventually some studio will buy the rights to film a Green Hornet picture...and with that would come a barrage on tie-in merchandise.

Reply if you got a lead. Thnx

FOX would love to put the Batman series out on DVD since they were the ones who produced it, but last I checked they are still fighting in court with Warner Bros. over who really has the rights to the series since they own the character. If WB gets their hands on it, we'll never see the whole series, or at least not until Adam West is no longer with us to do commentary.

I don't know who had the rights to Green Hornet though.

Regarding a potential Green Hornet movie... I remember a long time ago that George Clooney was going to do a Green Hornet movie. Then he got offered Batman & Robin so decided THAT would be his superhero project. That, as they say, was that for the GH movie. Never heard anything about it since then...

There has been one Green Hornet DVD released so far (allegedly as a movie but is actually four episodes from the TV show spliced together). This DVD can be found here but be forewarned about the incredibly bad job Fox did in splicing this together.

As for the Green Hornet movie - as recently as last year it was being rumored that Ray Park and Jet Li would be taking on the roles of the Green Hornet and Kato, respectively. Unfortunately the project became delayed and both Park and Li moved onto other projects. This doesn't mean that a movie still isn't being planned or wouldn't feature Park and Li but currently it doesn't appear that any progress has been made on the film.

I heard about a dvd of Green Hornet (probably the one that Joe Wagner mentioned) put out as a Bruce Lee movie to capitalize on his fandom. From what I heard they cropped it into a fake widescreen and eroniously called it "anamorphic?". I'd skip it.

This really makes me upset. FOX did a great job with the movie DVD. The extras are great (those trailer are some of the funniest things I've ever seen) and they did such a great job at cleaning the print and optimizing the sound. FOX did a truely first rate job on the movie. And they said they WANT to do the series, but are currently battling it out with WB. How sad is this? FOX wants to do a release of the series, but WB is doing all they can to stop it. Man...just not fair...
