I love how these are coming out at a frequency of every six weeks or so. I wish more TV shows on DVD would do this (SIMPSONS, for example!)
Got this from www.animeondvd.com (I think that's the link) site:
The fifth Robotech boxset has been assigned a street date of 12/11/01. This set concludes the Robotech Masters/Southern Cross saga of Robotech. Two more boxsets to go!"
More Robotech! WOO-HOO!

I think it works for ROBOTECH becuase no new shows are being produced. THE SIMPSONS can't do it becuase they still have new episodes coming, possible for about 3 more years. That means that they'd run out of DVD sets before the 15th season got started! Hopefully 2 box sets a year will be good enough for us fans (4 days until the DVDs hit!!)

Just as well! I am really trying to cut back on both my comic book and DVD purchases lately, and have to say I am doing a bang up job in controlling myself. If they put out a Simpsons box set every six weeks, that would just be more money I'd be required to spend!
I guess I wouldn't mind the wait between sets so much if they could give us Futurama and King of the Hill box sets too, rotating the three series so we'd at least have something to look forward to on a regular basis every six weeks.
Awesome! As a huge Robotech fan, this is great news. I was very excited to see the first box sets coming out and couldn't wait for more. Thanks for the good news DG!

Whoa...watched the final episode of the "Macross Saga" (should be Legacy 3) again and man, do these last 10 or so episodes hit close to home, or what? The last episode in particular has a particularly chilling finale given the recent events, and the enemies, well...
You have to see it for yourself again. Packs more punch now than it did 2 months ago.
Dude, don't spoil it for me, my third set is on order from Amazon.com and should be here any day! From the sounds of it, I am glad that they did release it and decided not to "edit" it in light of recent events!
Well, they don't have much time to edit it, anyway. When the tragedy hit, the DVDs had probably already been pressed a month ago. And delaying it would just piss off those who ordered it, whereas people who don't want to watch it right now don't have to buy it, so I guess it's logical to release it.Originally posted by calhoun07

In fact, most anime DVD releases are on schedule now, and there are A LOT of anime out right now which would be cut had they been on TV, in light of recent events.
ADV will soon be releasing a press release saying that they have the rights to the ORIGINAL Southern Cross and Mospeada series, according to an ADV rep on animeondvd.com. For those that are interested, of course.
It's too bad the Robotech versions of Southern Cross and Mospeada were edited. A bilingual DVD would've be nice, but I guess you can't have everything.
