    Review of Batman(1966) DVD

    Like This Thread!
So for those of you who have already purchased this DVD and watched it, what did you think? I loved it! Fox really went all out on the special features in my opinion. The commentary and the featurette were both cool. I also loved the theatrical teaser and trailer. The movie is so hokey that its fun(unlike B&R).Think I watch more for laughs than anything. Now, if fox just released the episodes like this, everything would be good.

The movie is just as insane as I remember. The best thing I loved about this DVD is that we got to see the stars now and we see that they don't hold back their work on the show as something that ruined their career. Usually people when they stereotyped as one certain role get upset about it and spend their whole career breaking it. It was great to see these stars didn't care about that at all, and enjoyed the success they've had becuase of their experience on the show.

The picture on the disc is amaziong. FOX did a beautiful job restoring the movie. It's almost clean of all specs and dust and looks amazing.

Then again - I would've bought the DVD for just the hilarious menu!

I just loved how the entire DVD didn't take itself seriously at all. It was just one big entire spoof from beginning to end. FOX did a steller job on this. WB should take note...

it's the best Batman DVD to date. From the beginning menu, to the trailer (Geesh..I watched the trailer today..it's cornier than the movie......LOL)..it's a blast to watch..I laughed throughout the entire thing.... it's great..and since its only $15...it's WELL worth it.

Man, now you all make me wish I had gone to Wal Mart to day to see if they had it!

I just wanted to comment on what DG said about the actors...you know, I think Adam West is really an underrated actor. I think what he has done with his career and the way he has handled the stereotypes really says alot about his character. Of course, I know we can never know what an actor is truly like in private, but they way he has handled it does say something about him, and I think it says something good.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

I was a trifle bit dissapointed in the BATMOBILE featurette. I was hoping for a longer thing about it, but I guess it did serve it's purpose.

I haven't watched anything on the DVD yet. I plan on watching the commentary tomorrow.. (hopefully anyway).

    I mean..it's a $15 DVD.. ($12.99 at circuit city tomorrow!!!!!)....it's packed with a bunch of stuff...it's one of the best DVD's I own..in fact..it is the best..aside from X-Men... or maybe their tied..yeah....there tied.

Anyway..those skeptical of buying it...just go buy it...it's only $15...and it comes in a keeper case....and.....holy mouth yapper batman! I can't say enough!

    and...it's rather filled for a $15 DVD...ok..enough from me..just go buy it!

If I get it, I will have to buy region 1 as (surprise!) a region 2 copy does not yet exist (if it does it is likely to be trimmed of all the interesting extras.....

Which means I have to test my multi region crack before I buy - borrow my mates region 1 Austin Powers (which actually has WHOLE chunks of the film missing - even from the deleted scenes - which are on the European version!!) and see if it works.

    If it does, I buy!

that sucks you have to go through all of that....

You need one of those APEX 1600 players...you can get into a secret menu (supposed to be removed from the player..but wasn't..it is now though..so they are hard to find..) where you can change the region of the player..and blah blah blah......hehe..it's a crappy player though....but..it's cool for that..and plus..it'll play almost any home-burned VCD you throw at it!

Mine has a secret hack menu - I think I've found it but I haven't tested it yet on any DVD's! If it works I can get it cheap over in the UK through the internet - so I may have it later this week!
