The Thief and the Cobbler COMING SOON TO DVD!!!!
www.dvdangle.com just announced that Richard Williams' animated epic, The Thief and the Cobbler will be coming to DVD...as part of cereal promotions.
I highly doubt this is the restored version that has been rumored for a few years, but at least the 80% that was animated by Williams' group will be in its excellent digital quality!
Let's hope it's widescreen!

I think I'll wait for the restored version, I didn't much like the chatty version out now. I sure hope the original doesn't have all those musical numbers.
The animation is pretty amazing, though.

The musical numbers are all 1990 added crapola.

Thanks, I thought so. I still hate the song "Bing bang Boodely Boom, We're what happens when you don't finish school," or whatever that it is. Yuck...

Canadian Cereal
My eyes lit up as well when I read that Thief & the Cobbler was already out on DVD - too bad it isn't the restored version.
Regardless, I've got a copy headed my way - if I get a chance, I'll put up a review on my site.

For anyone who's interested, we've put up a few screen captures in today's News update: Animation on DVD

They aren't really going to advertise cerial on the disc, are they?

The only reference to cereal that I noticed on the disc is on the silkscreened artwork on the actual surface of the disc. I scanned the disc and you can view it on my site (link is in previous message).
