    Commentary on _all_ the episodes?

    Happy....

And it looks like the "unaired episode" will be an alternate cut of the first episode. Interesting.

What I'd like to see in the box set....a booklet with all the little hidden visual jokes listed. They have such a thing at the Simpsons website, it would be nice if they included it in print for the DVD. If they don't, I will have to go to the website and print them off for personal use.

I hope so. I hear that there is so much that viewers miss and I'd like to also get all the stuff I may causally overlook.

Have you seen the site I am talking about, DG? They list these things under "freeze frame moments." Oh, yeah, I will be using my freeze button quite often on these Simpsons episodes!

    That Simpsons Site

The Simpsons site you're referring to is the fabulous Simpsons Archive.

Click on the episodes capsules, and then on a specific episode to see what you may be missing.

One day, when I have the ambition, I will make little booklets on the computer with the info in it to put in with my DVD. I think it would be a nice addition! It just makes me look forward to the DVDs all the more! I think I will ask off from my second job on the 25th just so I can be sure to be home to watch these!

I plan to get it as early as possible that day, maybe skip an afternoon class or something so I can pick it up. Even though the first season does sorta suck, it'll makea nice addition to the collection.

I think the ideal thing to do as far as referencing all the hidden jokes in The Simpsons would be a pop-up video type of thing where you could watch the show and have a pause when something funny appears in the background - then the little pop up thing would point to it and note why it is of interest.

To me - that would add more value to the set than a booklet (but a booklet beats nothing)

I like that idea, Keith! And the "Pop Up Video" people did several episodes of Brady Bunch for Nick at Nite. It would be a nice bonus feature for future sets. Fox posted a poll of what people would like to see on the first set as far as special features go (I voted, did you?) so if they put up a similar poll for season two, we have to be sure to get this idea in there.

DVDfile.com had a link up to it at one point. I think it was at the main Fox site. I tell ya, Fox does sure seem to care what their viewers and customers have to say. I have gotten personal responses from askfox@fox.com before, and in the times I hadn't recieved an email back from them, I would see my question or concerned taken care of (such as the time a Family Guy episode I wanted was pre empted by something else and I wrote to them to complain, because it was one I had been wanting to get taped, and they re ran it a couple weeks later. Maybe my email alone wasn't what made them re run it two weeks later, but I would like to think it was one of many they paid attention to and acted upon.) So if they post a poll up about season two for the Simpsons, I will be sure to post the link here.

A pop-up feature would be nice. New Line is doing that for their new line of Infinifilm DVDs.

There is also something like that on Bring it On, which when I run it with the director's commentary, it certainly slows the disc down just a tad!

So how does the pop up feature work on the Infinifilm releases? Like the Bring it On DVD?

Not sure. I didn't watch the director's commentary on BIO. And icon will pop up in the lower corner and you can click on it to see footage from behind the scene, news, stills, etc...

Oh, on Bring it On, it's called "Did you know that? Unversals Animated Anecdotes." It was a pop up video kind of thing (but not the same format, of course) that gave additional info and facts and etc about the movie as you watched it. That kind of feature would be so cool on the Simpsons DVD.
