Are DVD special features spoiling us?
Here's a question for all the DVD collectors out here. How much do the special features on a DVD effect you're descision to buy it? I think I've been spoiled by DVD's like the new Die Hard set, and Fight Club and the others, and almost feel cheated if there's not a lot of special features on them.

I don't think it is a matter of the DVD extras that spoil us that keep people from buying bare bones editions of DVDs. It's being burned once too many times. How many times do we buy a DVD and then see a better edition released later wanting us to buy the same movie again only to get new bonus features? I tell ya, after that happens to you a couple times, it's easy to get a little jaded about bare bones DVDs and wait for the special editions.
Enemy at the Gates is a new DVD that doesn't have much in way of bonus features, just a couple short featurettes, and some delted scenes, most of them thirty seconds long. Just not an impressive collection, but one damn impressive movie. So I doubt I will be buying it (I rented a pre-street copy from my work) because I just have a sneaking suspicion they will unleash a lavish collectors edition later on with more bonus features. It's not about being spoiled, it's that we only have so much money to spend, and we want to get the most bang for out buck.
Also, have you checked out the DVD board?
