I think this is a complete list of the classic Disney shorts often included as an extra on many Disney DVDs. If I'm missing anything, I hope someone will let me know.

Thanks for adding that! Also, the "Goofy Success Story" on the A Goofy Movie DVD is actually 4 cartoons linked together by new animation. The cartoons are: "Moving Day" (1936), "Moose Hunters" (1937), "How to Ride a Horse" from The Reluctant Dragon (1941), and "Motor Mania" (1950). There's also a short clip from "Shanghaied" (1934).

The Sword in the Stone DVD has another TV special called "All About Magic" that has some cartoons in it, but it's all in B&W: "Magician Mickey" (1937), "Trick or Treat" (1952), and a clip from the "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo" scene from Cinderella (1950).

The "Goofy Movie" DVD also has The "Goof Troop" episode "Calling All Goofs".

Don't forget the wonderful Vault Disney sets. Old Yeller has "Bone Trouble" on it and Swiss Family Robinson has "Sea Salts" on it. Those are the only two I have. Anybody with Parent Trap out there? Any other Vault Disney DVD cartoon shorts?

Geez, this thread is old. I think that all of those titles that Brian mentioned have come out by now. I'm not sure about So Dear To My Heart, but the other 3 are definitely out.

The Parent Trap DVD features the Donald Duck short "Donald's Double Trouble" (1946).

The Pollyanna DVD features the Mickey Mouse short "The Nifty Nineties" (1941).

These Vault Disney sets are great! I hope that the discontinuation of Vault Disney on the Disney Channel doesn't mean that there won't be more Vault Disney DVDs. Two films I would like to see get this treatment are "The Absent-Minede Professor" and "Son Of Flubber."

While it's not part of the Vault Disney collection, the recent DVD release of The Great Mouse Detective features the great Mickey/Donald/Goofy cartoon "Clock Cleaners" (1937) and the Donald Duck short "Donald's Crime" (1945).

A few more:

"The Big Wash" (1948) and "Clown of the Jungle" (1947) were released as bonus cartoons on Whispers: An Elephant's Tale.

"The Flying Mouse" and "Elmer Elephant" are on Dumbo.

"Pluto's Christmas Tree" and "Mickey's Christmas Carol" are part of Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse.

The recent DVD release Mickey's House Of Villains has three vintage cartoons along with the newer efforts from the TV shows "Mickey Mouse Works" and "House Of Mouse."

They are:

-- "Trick Or Treat" (1952)
-- "Lonesome Ghosts" (1937)
-- "Donald Duck & The Gorilla" (1944)

Like the classic cartoons on the Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed In At The House Of Mouse DVD, the cartoons don't have their opening and closing titles. Otherwise, they appear unedited. The only one that may be slightly altered is "Treak Or Treat." The opening scene where Witch Hazel flies about town (Duckburg?) seems like it should have lyrics for the "Trick Or Treat" theme. I haven't been able to find another copy of this cartoon to check.

That's Duckburg, all right. The ducks' hometown has been called Duckburg since 1944!
As far as I can recall, the opening scenes have never included singing over the music. Q: Does Witch Hazel herself actually appear in the new House of Villains linking material? She's been a recurring "good guy" in the comics since her debut in the cartoon, so I hope she isn't depicted as being evil.

Witch Hazel can be seen, but she doesn't say anything. She can be seen in some of the shots of the audience. At one point she is at the same table as the Witch from "Snow White" and Mad Madame Mim from "Sword in the Stone."
