According to dvdfile ( www.dvdfile.com ) . The cartoon Jackie Chan Adventures will be coming out on dvd. Don't get me wrong this might be a great show. And I am always glad when tv shows come out on dvd. But, I cannot believe this is coming out before one of the biggest cartoon shows of the past decade ie-Batman. Hopefully, the rumors are true and we will be getting them next year. But, man I want Batman now!!

When is the Jackie Chan DVD coming out? Hopefully this means MIB will follow suit. But I ama bit peeved thjat it's coming out before Batman. Jackie Chan was a good show...but only good. Nothing special. Wizard's Jim McGlaughlin said the show is coming to DVD, season by season. I know it's coming...it has to...

Different companies, different release schedules. If it were Time Warner and not Columbia that was putting out Jackie Chan Adventures, it probably wouldn't be out on DVD for another five years.

Yeah. At least Columbia knows when to cash in when a series is hot. I am curious if it'll be all 13 episodes edited togethor, or just the first 6 or 7, which is likely. Columbia doesn't release them as episodes, but they edit the episodes togethor (they don't cut out stuff, though) to make it like a movie, like with their great ROUGHNECKS stuff.

THis is nothing new. Newer movies and TV shows have a better chance at coming out on DVD than older programs and movies. More work has to be done on older shows to restore them for a DVD release, where the work they have to do on a newer title is miminal. That's why we are still waiting for some older movies on DVD but yet they almost have the Jurassic Park 3 DVD done, for example. And that's why Star Trek Voyager is coming to DVD before the Next Generation, because Next Generation needs more work done to it.

I can't speak as an insider, I don't know the real reasons for Batman animated being delayed, but that's as a best guess as I can muster.
