    Private Snafu DVD Question

    Like This Thread!
I finally got my copy of the Whole Toon Catalog in the mail a couple of days ago (the Spring 2001 edition), and I have a question.

I notice there is a DVD of a LOT of Snafu cartoons (I know they're not all there, but it's a large portion).

The obvious question, how is the quality of the cartoons on the DVD (for those who may have it), is it worth the $24.95 price?

    You be the judge... :-D

from what I've read, the prints are pretty good, BUT Bosko Video plasters their logo all over the screen, pretty much ruining any enjoyment of the cartoons

Reports of that kind of think kept me from buying the DVD for a long time, since I'm a fierce anti-onscreen-logo fanatic. Then I finally relented and was happy to find the logos were mainly restricted to brief appearance in the titles, with only a few instances of them popping up during the body of a cartoon. YMMV, of course, but it turned out for me not to be a "don't purchase" factor.

All the prints used for the Private Snafu DVD come from private colletors, so the quality of them vary a bit. Don't be surprised to see a lot of scratches and dirt. I'm sure WB has pristine copies, but it's doubtful they'll put them on DVD anytime soon. So I think this disc is worth buying.
