That is a cool idea. I figured the Best Buy (or Target) exclusive version would be the Avengers comic.

It figures that the cover to the release I plan to buy (Blu-ray/DVD combo) has the cover I like least.

I don't mean to be too much of a pessimist but if they did sell a boxset they'd more likely use the Tesseract for simplicity.

No cast commentary? What a missed opportunity given the ensemble.

Extras could be a little meatier given the phenomenal financial success, but I guess there'll be an extra special SE available when Avengers 2 arrives.

Here are some links for pre-orders:

    1. The Avengers in all stand-alone BD or DVD options.

    2. Marvel Cinematic Universe Avengers Assembled Set. This one is HUGE. It has all the first (plus second Iron Man) films of the Avengers line, and even has a couple of exclusive discs of extras. All incorporated into a briefcase that was designed to hold the Tessaract. Be forewarned though, that boy will not cheap!

Oddly, those clips are pretty much the 'big' scenes now spoiled online. And frankly, you wouldn't need 'em to sell this thing, given the B.O..

Sigh. God I need to get a Blu-Ray player. And the end of September seems so far away .
Not it will most likely do any good, but I encourage any interested parties to sign this petition.

One thing I've noticed that I find a little odd, (though certainly pretty awesome for me) is that while the US release date is the 25th of September, the release date here in Norway, shown on both online stores and the pre-order page for the digital download on iTunes... is the fifth. So unless the publishers missed the "2"-key while writing down the date and every single retailer ended up getting the wrong date as a result... Norway is getting the movie a full twenty days before the US.

The Avengers is scheduled for a August 29th home video release on 2D/3D bluray and DVD release in Hong Kong.
But knowing Hong Kong, stores will break release date and has probably already started selling in stores right now.

So if you pre-order an Avengers Blu-Ray with Best Buy, you get a collectible case!
Free Marvel's The Avengers Blu-ray Viva Metal Box collectible case packaging when you pre-order the Blu-ray Combo Pack or Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack ($7.50 deposit required)
Easier on the eye than any of the front covers, imo.

Is there a list of retail exclusives for this? I am sure there are going to be quite a few. I know Wal-Mart is offering a free comic which is really tempting but that depends on which version of the movie the comic is going to come with. There's also a steelbook/metal case offered from Future Shop. Any help?

Target has a bonus disc that has a 90 hour documentary, probably the same one that was used in the phase one collection.
