Warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him the ability to create anything his mind can imagine. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Reynolds). Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal’s humanity is one weapon no member of the Corps has ever had, and if – with willpower, determination and the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Lively) – Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax... he will save the Earth and all of mankind from certain destruction.

I picked up the Steelbook Blu-Ray Extended Edition from Best Buy. The Extended Edition is about 10 min longer with most notable addition being a scene from Hal's childhood. Problem is, the added scenes don't add much to the story that wasn't already there (I was hoping for more time on Oa and with Sinestro).

I haven't gotten through all the special features but they seem rather standard. I'll add on after I watch the movie on maximum movie mode. Did watch the deleted scenes, rather brief, maybe 7 minutes total.

I wanted to note that the digital copy included with the movie is not the typical download from iTunes/movie player but an interface called Ultraviolet. It is a cloud type player allowing you to play the movie from your Flickster account on your computer/tablet/smartphone. While you can download a copy to your hard drive on your computer, i am unable to do it on my tablet which is somewhat annoying (I normally watch the movies on planes when I can't access the internet)

Bottom line: The added footage won't change your opinion of the film. As a fan of the GL comics, I enjoyed the film. Though the films plot holes will prevent this from being a great film.

PS. Can't wait to try out my Sinestro Corps Batman skin Tuesday :-D

I noticed that today. Kinda lame you can't get it with the Blu-Ray, though.

So, I guess the extended edition isn't a fully reworked director's cut, that really decreases my interest in it.
    And stay out of Riverdale!
