    Again???

That would be the second re-issue. It seems like a new one comes out every two years. It was first released on DVD in 2006, re-issused in 2008, and now another one this year in 2010.

All the movie galleries in my area are closing so I stopped in and grabbed some flix:

    Joy Luck Club
    Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
    Hero

Yeah, I like wuxia. :anime: I actually only went in there to find Joy Luck club. Maybe I'll go again when things are cheaper. I paid 19 for the three movies.

Best Buy has a decent price on the South Park sets, $18.99.

Though I only had $20 at the time, thanks to Subway, I could only get one. Which was Season 10. I got it because overall, I loved that season. The WoW episode already had me sold.

The Best of Match Game at Half Price Books. Unfortunately, I've been having some problems with some of the features on discs 1 and 4. Particularly when I try to see the original 1962 pilot, the picture pixilates and the sound seems to skip.

Yeah, I picked up the first version that came out. I mean I would definitely recommend it though for anyone who doesn't have it. Truly outstanding movie.

I rented it from Netflix when it first came out on DVD in 2006, and it was interesting seeing it again after so many years. The revisions don't seem to have anything new to offer though.

Thanks again for the heads-up on this. Here's what I got @ TRU on the BOGO sale:

    - The Great Muppet Caper
Still my favorite Muppet movie ever. Surely Disney will release a better version of this in the future, but the nostalgic pangs to see it again have been nagging at me...and besides, I needed another title of the same price to get it free.

    - Alice in Wonderland
1985 made-for-TV special with songs by the legendary Steve Allen and a freaking huge all-star cast and chock full of celebrity cameos, including Ringo Starr as the Mock Turtle.

    - Scooby-Doo Alien Invaders/Zombie Island 2-pack
Not great movies, but I wanted these for the featurettes which include appearances by the voice cast...including a rare one by the late Mary Kay Bergman.

    - The Three Worlds of Gulliver
    - H.G. Wells' First Men in the Moon
    For their classic Ray Harryhausen-ness.

    - Pocahontas: 10th Anniv 2-disc edition
Definitely ranks low on my list of Disney animated features and I never actually wanted to own it, but I figured getting a 2-disc Disney animated feature brand-new/still sealed for only $10 after discount is rare.

    - Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro
The new Disney/Studio Ghibli release. I hate that they were sold out of the new edition of Kiki's Delivery Service or this would've been an even better deal.

    - Bedknobs and Broomsticks: Enchanted Musical Edition
I just learned from UltimateDisney's review that this isn't an upgrade over the 30th anniv edition, so it's back to TRU with this one on Saturday. That's what I get for not checking reviews before purchasing.

Also picked up the new releases for Ponyo and Castle in the Sky on the $10 off TRU offer.

At MovieStop, I used my $5 coupons plus the $10 off in-store offer and got both the new special editions of Toy Story 1 and 2 for what amounted to 50% off retail.

Also used a BOGO coupon I got from a Disney/MovieStop 2010 calendar that came with a pre-order last December and picked up Star Wars: The Clone Wars S1 and BTAS: V4 for about $11 each after the discount.

And some other recent purchases I didn't get a chance to post in the last two months of threads:

    - Comic Book: The Movie
I had only an advance review copy and wanted to own the actual DVD so I could get it signed my next trip to Comic-Con. Surprisingly, the CD Warehouse mgr gave me their only store copy for free since one of the discs was slightly scratched and they usually just throw unplayable discs away. It's also cool to own a movie in which I actually have a brief appearance.

    - Transformers Animated: S2
Took me a long while, but I finally managed to track down a copy of this OOP title @ MovieStop. Hated having to pay full price to buy it new, but I just gave up trying to find a pre-owned copy. And even pre-owned copies are selling for around $50 on amazon currently.

    - The Incredible Adventures of Wallace and Gromit
A nice OOP find for $7 from an indie used media store.

    - Beowulf: Director's Cut
    $3 @ CD Warehouse

    - Muppets From Space
    $3 @ CD Warehouse

    - Happy Feet (WS)
    $3 @ CD Warehouse

    - Demetri Martin: Person
    $5 @ CD Warehouse

    - Disney Double Feature: Absent-Minded Professor/Son of Flubber
    - Samurai Jack: S3
    - Disney Double Feature: Apple Dumpling Gang/Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again
Got all three of the above titles for $18 on a B2/G1 sale @ MovieStop

    - Fraggle Rock: The Animated Series
    $9 @ CD Warehouse

    - Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles
    $3 @ CD Warehouse

    - MAD TV: Complete 1st Season
    $8 @ MovieStop

    - Steven King's Nightmares & Dreamscapes
    Free @ MovieStop after coupon

    - Planes, Trains and Automobiles: Those Aren't Pillows Edition
    $6 @ CD Warehouse

    - Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths 2-disc
    $12 @ CD Warehouse

    - Silence of the Lambs 2-disc collector's edition
    $6 @ CD Warehouse

    - Jonah: VeggieTales Movie 2-disc collector's edition
    $3 @ CD Warehouse

    - UP BR (4-disc)
    $16 @ CD Warehouse

    - Wall-E BR (2-disc)
    $14 @ CD Warehouse

I just picked up Fantastic Mr. Fox. I'm kinda bummed that they decided to put all of the extras on the Blu-Ray, though. Still, I really liked it, especially how the stop-motion gives it that retro vibe.

I got the Toy Story and Toy Story 2 BDs.
They all think I'm crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy. It is I who am mad.
