    New Animation DVDs Announced

    Like This Thread!
Well, the onslaught of DIC DVDs has begun. Check out this news:

On August 28th, episodes of the animated series Mummies Alive! will be released on DVD. Mummies Alive!: The Real Beginning will run approximately 90 minutes and contain a never-before-seen episode. The suggested retail price is $19.99. On that same day, four episodes from the Sabrina: The Animated Series cartoon will be released. Sabrina: The Animated Series: Sabrina's World also has a $19.99 SRP.

Also, Disney will begin releasing their animated shorts from the 30s, 40s, and 50s.

So, when are we gonna get more shows that people actually want on DVD?

Hey, I'll take the Disney shorts! Especially if they cram a DVD with all the Goofy "how to" shorts... those were classic.

Patience, young Jedi. New and innovative mediums take time to build. Gone With The Wind wasn't on VHS until about 1988, about the same time the Beatles finally started putting out CDs. The true greats take time to convert to the new methods. Marginal affairs like Mummies Alive! can commit to untested mediums because they small fanbases to antagonize should DVDs lose support or be rapidly replaced.

So are these the Disney shorts they used to show on Sunday nights on TV on the Wonderful World of Disney?
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

I hope they are uncensored disney shorts!

Sometimes you can catch short cartoons on the Disney Channel in the wee hours of the morning...with all the appropriate cuts in a nod to PCness, of course.

Still waiting for a "Song of the South" DVD...guess I'll have to make do with the Japanese laserdisc or European PAL release on tape.
