Special edition of Home Alone, finally coming to DVD

    Like This Thread!
A new edition of Home Alone will be out on DVD in November. They'll call it the "Family Fun Edition". It'll have commentary, deleted scenes, bloopers, and all other good things. This is one of my all-time favorite movies, as well as the first sequel, and I was hoping that they'd get some "special" treatment. I might by this if the second movie gets similar treatment though. It comes out on November 21.

Just the first one? They won't force us to buy the weak sequels anymore? Good....

I liked the second one the best, so hopefully that will come soon.

The second one will probably be the only sequel that gets special treatment. The rest of the Home Alone movies will likely get boxsetted with minimal special features.

Like the topic title says, "Finally". I think there was talk about a S.E. of Home Alone as far back as 2002 or 2003, so this was a looooooong time coming. Well, I'll be buying it. And if Home Alone 2 gets the same kind of thing, I'll snap that up as well. Even with large amounts of replays on ABC Family, it'd be nice to have it in Widescreen and with all scenes intact.

Here are all the special features so we all can see:

-Feature Audio Commentary by Director Chris Columbus and Macaulay Culkin

    -1990 Press Featurette

    -The Making Of Home Alone

-Mac Cam: Behind The Scenes With Macaulay Culkin

-How To Burglar Proof Your Home: The Stunts Of Home Alone

    -Home Alone Around The World

    -Where's The Buzz Now?

    -Angels With Filthy Souls

    -Deleted Scenes

    -Blooper Reel

    -3 Trailers

    -Set Top Games:
    ·Battle Plan
    ·Trivia Game
    ·Head Count

Seriously though, Home Alone 4 just ruined it all for me. The third one was a story with its own setting, but they try to put the fourth one in the same universe as the first two. They even have different actors playing the same characters from those movies. I'm a completist, but I'll definitely have to leave Home Alone 4 out of my collection.

Never heard a commentary by Columbus before. For those that have, how is he? Does he chime in a lot, or is there a lot of dead air? It'll also be interesting to hear Culkin's input.
    -Angels With Filthy Souls
Here's hoping that the sequel S.E. will have Angels With Even Filthier Souls.

No way! ANGELS WITH FILTHY SOULS will be watchable by itself? I wonder if there was more shot than we saw in the film? That'll be cool.

I'll definitely by the first one, as well as the second if it gets a S.E. treatment, too. While it certainly stretched things pretty thin for a sequel, I still like it. Anything after HA2 does not exist in my mind.

Oh wow. This calls for a celebration. If he's good, that is.

The only commentary I ever heard him do was the Deleted Scenes from RENT.
