    What's Wrong With This Picture?

Warner Bros. is releasing episodes of Teletubbies to DVD, yet still no BATMAN, SUPERMAN, ANIMANIACS, TINY TOONS, or BATMAN BEYOND. What the hell is going on? I mean -- COME ON! TELETUBBIES!!! Those things are creepy and evil!

Not to mention that parents usually don't buy DVDs for kids because DVD requires more maturity and understanding to handle them without damaging them beyond repair. That's why parents put the VCR in the kids room when they get their DVD player. Teletubbies is for way too young of an audience to generate alot of DVD sales, where as the Batman and Superman fans who would buy the DVDs range in age from children to adult. I think they would make more money off the Batman and Superman animated DVDs!

I couldn't agree more. It just boggle the mind why everything except those shows are being put to DVD. I just don't get the inner workings or WB. Batman was watched by 10 million people, and if even 3/4 of the fans buy it, that's 2.5 units sold, which would equal around $100 million or more in sales. If I only ran WB...

Hello. I came to talk. I've been thinking lately. About you and me. About what's going to happen to us, in the end. We're going to kill each other, aren't we? Perhaps later. I just wanted to know that I'd made a genuine attempt to talk things over and avert that outcome. Just once... I don't fully understand why ours should be such a fatal relationship, but I don't want your murder on my ... hands...

It's amazing how the taste of children has gone from awesome stuff like GIJoe and Ghostbusters to...Teletubbies.

    Generational differences

I think that every generation thinks what they grew up on was the best. I grew up on old school anime, Star Wars, and that sort of stuff, but it was growing up on Star Wars that enriched my childhood so much. When I got a little older, and saw cartoons like He Man and GI Joe, well...they were ok, and I even watched a few of them, but they were not as good as Star Wars or the great stuff I grew up on. And for those of you who grew up on He Man and GI Joe and think that stuff is the greatest, here you are doing the same thing I did back then, dogging the next generations choices.

The day will come...a day I am not looking very forward to...when these kids who like Pokemon and all the crap today grow up and run boards like this and they make the decisions as to what DVDs get released, and we will be seeing a revival of crap animation like Pokemon unlike this world has never seen. At least I like GI Joe and other 80's shows (but am not as enamoured with them as others here! But I am not doggin those shows either!) but I don't think I could ever bring myself to like what the kids today like. Does that make me too old?

Of course, there are new cartoons that I do like, such as Invader Zim and Spongebob, so I think I am alwasy open to new animation. I just am not looking forward to the revival of the plotless shows you are all discussing here.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

NOO!! Pokemon obsessors will NOT be running message boards! Not like this anyway! We'll make sure of it. It's only logical the best of the best should start it's own message board mafia or something, right?

    Let's do it!!

It's gonna be a sad day when all those kid slook back on theri cartoons and realized they watched about 200 30 minute comercials for all that Poke-merchandise. And the sad thing is, Poke episodes have already been released to both VHS and DVD and more are on the way. Digimon is on it's 6th volume. And yet...we still have no Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond, or anthing remotely enjoyable. Instead we're getting compilations from bland shows trimmed down to my unoffensive and everyone tolerent. As long as these board remain around...there's a beacon of hope...

That's how I felt about GI Joe and He Man in the 80's, and I am quite sure my mom thought every Star Wars movie was a over budgeted toy commercial!
