I finally had the chance to pick up The Grudge Unrated Edition, and I watched it immediately after getting home. All I can really say is wow, what an improvement! I thought the theatrical version was just down right excellent, but I was unable to buy it on DVD back in March, which turned out to be a good thing. The extra scenes in this movie really do make a difference, especially with the father (people who have seen Ju-On will know what I mean) ghost. Oh, and I just love the fact that the Extended Edition DVD still has about 25 minutes worth of deleted scenes, which seem to be scenes nearly identical with Ju-On (like the sister coming over to the house and her brother being possessed by the father and kicking her out). It would have been nice had they all been reinserted into the movie, but Raimi and Shimizu probably kept them out for a reason.

Oh, and I just found out that a sequel is in the works, how cool is that?
