Father of the Pride: The complete series and Dragonball Z volume 2 came through the post today
Some of this week's recent releases include Hitch, the so-bad-it-went-straight-to-Sci-Fi Man Thing, Rory O'Shea Was Here, Tarzan 2, and The Wool Cap. John Waters' A Dirty Shame is coming out in separate R-rated and NC-17 releases, and the DVD is also part of a larger "John Waters Collection" that piles on Desperate Living, Female Trouble, Hairspray, Pecker, Pink Flamingos, and Polyester.
"The Betty Davis Collection" includes The Star, Mr. Skeffington, Dark Victory, Now, Voyager, and The Letter, which are all available individually as well. Likewise for "The Joan Crawford Collection", which collects Humoresque, Possessed, The Damned Don't Cry, The Women, and Mildred Pierce.
Criterion is adding Au hazard Balthazar and Heaven Can Wait to their collection. Other catalog titles include Mario Bava's Danger: Diabolik, The Lightship, Prime Cut, The Reivers, and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?. There are also a few noteworthy re-releases, including the 10th Anniversary Edition of Casino and a 30th Anniversary Edition of Jaws.
This week's TV-on-DVD releases include the first season of ESPN's Tilt and Highlander: The Raven, the second season of Reno 911, the third seasons of Saved by the Bell: The New Class and Northern Exposure, the fourth season of King of Queens, and the...:sniffles:...final season of Walker: Texas Ranger. There are also random volumes of the animated Rambo, What's New, Scooby-Doo?, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. If you're a fan of The League of Gentlemen, pretty much everything they've ever done is coming out on DVD.
A few random releases worth pointing out... The early years of "Jib Jab" have been compiled on DVD, and a few concerts are also coming out -- one with The Eagles in Australia and the other with Paul McCartney in Red Square.
For a list of some of the best prices as well as the latest price drops for existing titles, check Mike Frezon's weekly thread on the Home Theater Forum and SalesCircular.com. A relatively comprehensive list of this week's releases can be found at DVD Talk and ComingSoon.net.
So -- what are you getting this week? I might grab Danger: Diabolik, Jaws, and Shriek Show's Zombi 3-pack.

Today, I picked up the Gatchaman Collection 1 box set and Maburaho vol. 2 at Best Buy.
Note: if you're a Best Buy Reward Zone member, then it's best to pick up the Gatchaman Collection 1 box set there, as I have a feeling that the store is having a promotion in which Reward Zone members get a $5 gift card when they buy the box (that's what happened at my store).

I may rent Hitch but don't think I'll do any buying
“Aw c’mon puddin’…don’t you wanna rev up your Harley? Vroom! Vroom!” – Mad Love
I'll probably pick up something tomorrow at my local mall.
As for the new 30th Anniversary Edition of Jaws, I think I'll just keep my 25th Anniv. Edition. Except for a new documentary with Spielberg, both versions are pretty similar. Why waste money?
Lois and Clark-The New Adventures of Superman: Season 1
"Always a pleasure to meet a Jedi." - Jango Fett
"Arghh! I'm not beautiful."- Sea Captain
"Everybody loves Butters." "That's me!" - Butters

I saw it in the bargain bin for $9.99 at CompUSA, but I had to rent it to be sure I wanted it. I do. I'll be getting Gattaca in the next few days.

Garden State, got it as a gift and I'll finally be able to see it.
Well, I can tell you what I won't be having in my collection anymore.
The Outsiders. I put it up for sale on amazon.com yesterday, and I saw today that it has been purchased.
It's being rereleased on September 20 under the name "The Outsiders-The Complete Novel". Two discs with a lot more interesting special features other than just a movie trailer. Even some commentary tracks. It's one of my favorite movies of all time, so I'd very much like to own this one.
The artist formerly known as PRdude.
Star Trek Voyager Season 2. It's been more than a year since I bought Season 1, so finally I can get some "new" episodes.
Alfred: Why do we fall, sir? So that we might better learn to pick ourselves up.
Yeah, That's one amazing film. I'm glad to see someone else has seen it besides myself. I still need to purchase the uncut release though.Originally Posted by Sigma
