This week my big purchase is the unrated version of Team America: World Police. I may go back for Scrubs: The First Season later this week though.
Debuting with their first season sets on DVD are The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Clarissa Explains It All, and Scrubs. The second season of The Golden Girls, the third season of Six Feet Under, the fourth season of Seinfeld, and the fifth season of Cheers are coming out, and there are some additional "best of..." The Commish and The Simpsons releases this week too.
The TV movies Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss and the Batman reunion Return to the Batcave are coming out on DVD too, along with regular and special editions of Ghost In the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
It's a huge week for westerns for some odd reason, marking the release of Blue, The Desperate Trail, Escort West, Hour of the Gun, The Hunting Party, Invitation to a Gunfighter, Johnny Reno, Last Stand at Saber River, More Dead than Alive, Purgatory, Sam Whiskey, Scalphunters, and Waterhole #3.
The vintage comedies Dance With Me, Henry, The Noose Hangs High, and The Princess and the Pirate are hitting DVD too, along with a collection of Steve McQueen movies (The Great Escape, Junior Bonner, The Magnificent Seven, and The Thomas Crown Affair).
Also making their way to DVd are the recent theatrical releases Kinsey (being issued in standard and special editions), [i]The Sea Inside/i], Son of the Mask, rated and unrated versions of Team America: World Police, and White Noise.
To cash in on the success of Son of the Mask (not really), The Mask is getting the Platinum Series treatment from New Line. Despite not coming out all that long ago, The Grudge is already being reissued as a special edition.
A few miscellaneous releases worth pointing out include The Flaming Lips' Fearless Freaks and big sets comemmorating The Dodgers and the Philadelphia 76ers.
For a list of some of the best prices as well as the latest price drops for existing titles, check Mike Frezon's weekly thread on the Home Theater Forum and SalesCircular.com. A relatively comprehensive list of this week's releases can be found at DVD Talk and ComingSoon.net.
I've written a review of one of this week's releases, Return to the Batcave. So -- what are you getting this week? Part of me wants to grab Scrubs and Team America, but I'll probably hold off.

Got Hoop Dreams and the 2-disk of The Life Aquatic, as well as Sideways, I Heart Huckabees and Closer. Well, I got those last weekend, but I don't really see anything new I'm gonna pick up this week.
Saturday is the best day of the week. No demands at all! Perfect freedom! The whole day stretches before us with unlimited opportunity! And what better way to appreciate that opportunity than by squandering it watching cartoons all day! --- Calvin

Wouldn't of been better to wait for the box set?
Or are you in the "I think it looks tacky bandwagon"?
Box set :£60
Individual dvds:£12.99 each x 4 = £52
hmmmmm
Oh yeah, the box does look tacky

Yeah, I'm gonna wait a bit and get it on an internet discount. £60 is too much for a 26* episodes series whatever show it is.Originally Posted by IanC

Got the shiny new Spongebob Squarepants Movie DVD!
Here's my review:
The Movie
OK, I'll admit that I didn't get to see this movie when it came out in the movie theatres so this was a first time for me. I thought this was an absolutely EXCELLENT movie! I didn't have any cons on this, just pros. Very funny, great animation and the unforgettable cameo of David Hasselhoff...need I say more? In fact this movie is so good that even the live-action sequences are classic!
A+

The Extras
Both the behinf-the-scenes-ish featurette & the documentary (the documentary is entitled "The Case of the Sponge "Bob"" and it's very fascinating and surprisingly educational!) are brilliant but I am never fond of Animatics, they can be boring in places if they don't do it well. The worst and most pointless extra is the campaign promotional feature, "Saving the Surf". It may be a good subject, but it has very little to do with the movie they are sponsering with. It also is another silly excuse to show the same Spongebob Squarepants clips we already seen in the movie over and over again. However, I do like the bit when at the end it has "Support us, call: 1 (800)...." which is nuts because this is an american telephone number on a R2 DVD! It's not "Rubbish! Rubbish! On this shore!", it's "Spongebob"! The last feature is saves the disc, it's the marvellous teaser trailer of the movie which parodies those "war-at-sea" movies like Das Boot and U-571. Wise decision to put this up and not the other trailers because this only uses original content. Smart move. Nevertheless, the features aren't as much as good as the movie.
C+
Overall
Spongebob Squarepant's movie debut is great entertainment and I really do recommend it. However the extras aren't the best way to deliver such a wholesome movie such as Spongebob. But because of the movie, I'll give this an A.

That's it from me. Your turn...
Whos that David thingymabiob that you mention.
He was in one of the trailors too.
Picked up Team America Rated R Version and Spaceballs Collectors Edition

Whats up with you guys getting the R Rated Verison of Team America?
I picked up The Unrated Verison of Team America: World Police this week and may go pick up The Adventures of Pete and Pete Season 1 this weekend.
Scrubs Season 1 came in the mail for me yesterday. Just a note though for anyone picking it up: several songs have been changed from the broadcast episodes. "Hooch" is missing from My Day Off, "On Fire" from My Nickname, and "All In My Head" from My Sacrificial Clam. I'm guessing there are more but I haven't watched every episode yet. Kinda disappointing given how much music is tied into the scenes, but it's not a deal breaker for me anyway (although it does diminish some of the better scenes I've noticed it in).

1. I picked up the R-Rated version because I thought that the Unrated version may be too much for me to handle (not to mention the fact that I haven't seen Team America yet).
2. As for Pete and Pete: I definitely want to tell my older brother about this, since he's a big fan of the show.
