I haven't looked at mine yet, but I just thought I'd make it known that the copies that Best Buy is selling come with a third DVD that contains a VH1 special having to do with the movie.

I got mine at BestBuy with that extra disc. I'll have to wait until Friday before I have time to watch anything off it though.

I am making my way through this and there is a host of good matrial in here. So far my absolute favorite is in the bloopers whre they show Sam Riami really pounding on Tobey Maguire. That is the Sam Riami we all know from Evil Dead!

Was anyone disappointed in the size of the gift set? I was expecting it to be the same size of the first one but it's much smaller. I felt a bit letdown there.

great movie and great dvd. i'm not about to call it "the greatest superhero film of all time" though.

the featurettes we're ok. i was hoping for alot more info about the comic book. the store where i pre ordered the box set didnt get it in, so i had to go to rent it... the box sounds promising and i really want to read issue 50. my only complaint about the box is the top lid. i dont like how the image is vertical, it should be horizontal like the first box set, maybe the picture could take up the whole lid too. picky, i know..

    Spoiler:
after watching the movie yesterday, i think its safe to say that harry will be the main villian in spider-man 3. at the wedding, he's wearing a green bow tie.

Wasn't planning on getting it today, but when I saw it for $14.99 at Best Buy with the 3rd disc, I just, well, couldn't pass it up.

I was close to getting the big box set, since I have the box set for the first movie, but I just couldn't justify spending $35 on it. Maybe a few months down the road I'll sell the DVD and get the box set.

Well I watched the movie today, along with the VH1 disc (which was hilarious, especially Bruce Campell saying he defeats Spider-Man in it), and some of the extras on disc 2. Some of the bloopers were funny as hell, and I found the stuff about the making of the sound and music really interesting. Aside from that one, I only had time to watch the first Making Of chapter as well. The webisodes were really cool. But like a lot of blockbuster movie DVDs, there are more extras than I have time to watch. I still haven't even finished watching all the extras from the first Spider-Man DVD, or even a lot of my DVDs for that matter.

Movie is definitely my second favorite movie of the year, and I give this DVD a 5/5 stars. The movie itself gets a 4.5/5. I still like the first movie better (because I like GG more), but this is a damn good sequel.

When it goes on sale, I'm definitely going to pick up the Superbit edition because I buy the Superbit versions for myself only, and hide them so no one else can watch them.

    Ugh. It's a 2.40:1 anamorphic transfer.

On my 27" high-def 4:3 TV, the picture comes through in such a small sliver that it looks as if I'm watching the movie from three miles away.
    Vegas...now??

    Another egg found!

    Spoiler:
in disc 1: highlight "Special Features" and press the Enter button. Then highlight "Commentaries" and press Enter. When the next menu appears, highlight "Off" under the words "Technical Commentary." Then press the right arrow button on the remote, followed by the up arrow button. A spider icon will light up. Press Enter to see director Sam Raimi in a filmed "Spider-Man 2" promo made for a Japanese press group, proof that he is a wacky director

I thought the transfer was great. It helps the CG look a little better.

Has anyone found all the easter eggs yet? I've found 4 so far. My favourite was definatly Raimi's attempts to inspire Molina to become a supervillain. A nice surprise there!

Could've done with the belly button fluff info though...

this box set sucks. i just got it a few minutes ago and my first thought was "why the hell is this thing so small??". complete let down for me, i was expecting it to be the same size as the spider-man 1 box set. im also angered at the fact that the comic is a mini comic. i want the full size deal!!!

anyway, this would be a nice set if every thing was enlarged to fit a box the same size as the spider-man 1 box.
