Is there a place where I can get a list of DVDs that are scheduled to be re-released with new editions or double dipped. I'd like to know what's safe to purchase and what I should wait for.

I'm not sure about a LIST, but The Digital Bits has DVD release news months in advance, some of which is double dip DVDs. And I found this article that really makes some good points about double dipping: http://www.jasonbennion.com/archives/000068.html

DVDTalk has this thread that appears to be more-or-less exactly what you're looking for.

Thanks for the link, jdoggg! That's much better than what I came up with.It's really quite amazing how far into the future companies plan their releases. 101 Dalmations in 2009?! Wow. And now I know to hold off on the Batman series, since they're apparently getting special editions next year.
