It seems after I came back to this board and stuff just since the night before this board has gotten a bit depressing stressed out for at least sometime since my last visit and plus some of our older members are leaving or taking a break with a rude excuse for some reason, and I need to know if somthing bad had happened while I was gone, I'm quite concerned at this time and I just need some pointers on this, no offense. :(

I don't really have any knowledge of something happening to make everyone a bit ornery...all I can say is that people change with the seasons; I'm a bit depressed myself now--I guess it's the winter weather, or something.

Toonzone has been getting a little bit more and more stressful for the past few months. Well, at least the Cafe and AS boards have. Probably because on both boards people are divided into two camps and virulently defend them. As a result the news/political/opinion threads have all but died because most people decide they cause too much grief and I think that that is a source of more stress. People have a lot of opinions these days and few arenas to express them. (I'm not completely against that, for some reason a lot of members degenerate into personal attacks rather than simply saying their mind and leaving the world to judge for themselves.)
I think that this is another reason some of the older members don't post as much. Post any news item or something and you are in for a 5 page debate that will degenerate into personal attacks and crude language.
I'm sure it will get better with time. Worry not. :D

People tend to move on from here eventually. If you were here since 2001 you might have even noticed more changes and differences in the evolution of this board. It was a pretty tight knit community back then, with a sort of "Friends"-like clique going on here. Then came the politicians--some of which are still here--but either they got tired of yelling for no reason at all or they've moved on to other affairds.
All in all, this board is most populated by college kids, young adults, and those teens on the tail end of high school. All stressful periods of one's life. Starting out in life always is a pain.

For the most part, the major events were the redesigning of the forums and the second cleanup of the Fun and Games board. Of course, I do not know what happened on the other two boards in question.

That is now. It seems like there were more members here aged 13-14 two years ago.

If that problem has gotten worse, and seems to have stayed about the same for the last few months, there are no signs of improvement. There have been a few political threads in the last few weeks, so obviously not everyone thinks they died.

Really? Hadn't noticed. Didn't actually care, anyway. What I saw from her mostly was her being moody for no reason, at times getting upset at people for no reason, her "supposed" split personality was the dumbest thing I've seen in a LONG time (considering that there are people who DO have split personalities and her changing now and then on here was no excuse for her "split personality". That makes me sad that someone would resort to such a thing and blame it all on "them" when it's a serious disorder), spamming like there's no tomorrow. I'm not even at 500 posts yet and it'll be my two year anniversary this coming February and she was only here for not even a year, but that's just my opinion. Others will see her differently.
I'm a drifter. I'm TRYING to get a job. It's not as much fun as it sounds. :( I have other things going on in my life as well. I'm here but not all there. O_o I post in what I think are intresting topics for me to post in. I'm addicted to Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2, The Legend of Dragoon, Grandia and Onimusha: Warlords. :o Video games, anime, manga, reading, writing, my iMac, losing weight, finding a job. :)

FalconI think that is why I am some what depressed and another reason why half of the mods and all of the admins may have had a bad mood latly, because of DianaGohan, but also I have a feeling this may not be the end of it, regards by the time monday comes around, this topic will be locked plus could upset the mods once again, this is why is am acting like this, it is just not the same ever since that user's banning, the staff here have been uneasy and also explains what you said Blue Falcon about some of the fimilar users drifting apart, wich could partly be my faut as well because I have a mental disablity, and sometimes may urge to argue with people and that is probbly what triggered this event on partial terms, but I will say this truly is not the same because there were alot more users to chat with back then, and I have the feeling I maybe the next person to leave if somthing like this happeneds again, because I feel the board is not friendly anymore, no offense to the mods or Admins.
And that is all I can say for now.

In all honesty, I was most familiar with her posts on Toonami and the anime board, and I really liked her posts there. Maybe there was something I missed, but I don't remember her causing much of a ruckus here. But then I haven't participated in many threads here, either.

I think usually the mods have a fairly solid reason for bans. I'm not the nicest guy around, and sometimes I've pushed the envelope a bit, but I've always caught myself from crossing the line most of the time, so I haven't had many warnings, if at all in my time here. I'm actually surprised I'm still here! I thought I'd be banned by now. More popular people than me have been banned, so I must be doing something right...either that or I'm real smooth... :D
Yea, the board is somewhat different now, but I didn't join to make friends so it doesn't really bother me. I know that probably sounds anti-social, (I don't mean it to sound that way.) but I've always viewed this board simply as a place for discussion. If I wanted to make on-line friends, I'd visit chatrooms.
P.S. Why was DianaGohan banned?

Spamming, I think...
I think what bothers people is that it doesn't seem as comfortable a discussion environment as it used to be for them. I personally wouldn't say that, though it seems we've kind of run out of general things to talk about...after a while a lot of the topics here look start to look similar, or redundant.
I've never liked chatrooms because of the limits they put on what and how much you can write at any given time. Plus I hate the shorthand lingo found in chatrooms.
That is now. It seems like there were more members here aged 13-14 two years ago.
Missed this...I think that's true, though I would say a year ago rather than 2 years ago. In 2001 there were a lot of older high school kids and college kids, and same with 2002, with Chris Sanders and John C kicking around here with their gang. There were some kids, like anime_girl and Skarr, who've kind of dropped off since August. Even Calhoun and PsychoFox seems to be gone.
All in all, it's fascinating to chart the rise and fall and rise of the members here. Every year there seems to be a new generation of members, with guys like you, me, some crusty old members and the 3 politicians (tm) being the constants here.
I guess that either speaks of how dedicated we are or how utterly same our lives have been for the past 3 or 4 years. I'm sure my time to leave will come soon...though I don't really post too frequently anyway, even if I visit the board every day. I have a lot of work to do ahead of me in the coming 4 years...the end may be near...

I'm not sure that has anything to do with anything, although I can understand why it bothers a few posters. I didn't have anything against Diana, and I don't fully understand the banning, but I don't think that she was such an integral part of the boards that her absence would affect things all that drastically. We were doing okay before she and the rest of the 2003 crowd showed up.

I don't think it's a lack of things to talk about, I think it's the things we choose to talk about. It might be my faulty memory (and I'm fairly certain it is), but I could swear that when I first started posting here on the Cafe the emphasis on social, political, philosophical, ethical, and religous discussion was much stronger. Lately, however, I feel there's been much more of a focus on the community aspect of the board (popularity threads, coming/going threads, etc.), and much of the deeper discussion gets lost amidst all of that. A lot of the wordier posters from days past, people who wrote longer meditations on various topics, are also gone, which results in the feeling of more and more shorter posters. That may be for the better, I guess... although I personally am dissapointed, because I feel like the discussion these days isn't quite as lively.
Just my take.

Not much discussions going on lately that I feel compelled to bounce opinions about, and I haven't felt compelled to start any new discussions since they would likely provoke debate which the current batch of users seem to have an aversion to.
I just lurk nowadays, I have confidence that some new debaters will make their way here eventually. ;)

Well not long ago I was just insulted by one of the users in the General Animation Forum just recently, and I also have the feeling like with the other 2 I'd probbly be the next person tabbed for the Ban list due to the fact I make no sense on most of my topics and am sometimes called a Spammer although I did not do many posts, and right now, it could be like this for sometime untill most of the newbies take over, I mean it is just down right bad for me and I hardly can make many friends because of my bad actions and even doing this post it self is made out self pitty for most, and I think I should just leave, nothing good is going to come out of me, I'm sorry all. :(

No offense, Jeffrey, but I think it's that kinda attitude that's makes people leave the forums. One person disaggress with them, they feel hurt, and they feel like they don't matter. But, this is the internet and there's bound to be a few people who disagree with you, and at the same time quite a few who will agree with you. No person should feel that they're hated unless they really are rather annoying and even then they may still have friends. Plus, some people just disagree just to anger people. So, it's really no reason to leave, Jeffrey.
As for me, I feel the forum is doing okay, though I do believe the forums have really split in different factions. I have to say I'm one of the people who's in one of these groups and I think it helps me stay at these forums, actually.
As for Diana, I must say she annoyed me quite a bit with the whole personality thing. Not to mention she spammed quite a bit, or else I don't think teh mods would have banned her. I never liked her, and I don't thank we're missing anything at all, now that she's gone. I do kinda feel like maybe someone else could actually do a Talkback in the CN Forum know that she's gone. :p

plus, i heard she was lying to me about her age Funny you should bring that up, because in her profile she was 23, but on the website she's on now (the link's in somebody's signature- I forget who's) she's listed as 17. Personally, I don't think you should lie about your age in a relationship- a relationship can't be built on lies, no matter how small they might be. But about the split personalities thing, I always thought of it as her interacting with her brain, a la Homer.
