Well, a power-outage blew the television, dryer, and a few other appliances of my families house. And, being a week or two away from my parents' anniversary, I wanna buy my parents a new television.

So I went to bustbuy.com, and found a bunch of different kinds. Now, I don't want to get a widescreen or flat TV (hey, I want one, but my parents have no need), I just can't afford it (go college!)

Anyway, I see descriptions that are way too technical for me (I remember when I tried buying a car stereo, I knew nothing, and was ridiculed by the salesman).

So, can anyone help me out?

Well Screen Size is the size of the screen

Aspect Ratio is like this a 4:3 ratio would be 4 across for every 3 down. It just gives you an idea of the shape.

Don't worry about Digital stuff odds are you can't afford it

Horizontal Resolution is simply how many dots are on each line across basicly this is your res

As for connectors go here Video connections (http://www.cnet.com/electronics/0-6342366-8-7008129-1.html) that page will explain what you need to know about them.

Well that's what you need to know, if you need any more help just ask.
