I was recently going through allllll of my stuff. All of it. I wanted to go through and revisit some ideas I had in the past. And keep it for archival purposes on my computer. I have a heavy, heavy drawer filled with old drawings and I don't like having to go through it every time I think, "Hey, what about that one character.....?".
But while I'm doing that, I'd like to get opinions from everyone one it all. Let me know what characters you like. Which you don't. Which frighten you.... and which make you think I'm quite insane. Or heck, if you see a character you think might work if it were tweaked a little, let me know how you'd tweak it.
Please just keep in mind that I've declared all the work here not based off of WB characters to be copyrighted. None of this work is to be used anywhere else without my written consent.

The Dark Gnat is one of my creations from H.S.
That guy with the big hair in the comic strip is Broccoli-head guy. I didn't actually ever have many art classes. But there was this one we had where they had us go through a whole mess of magazines. The goal? Put together your own human collage. I was determined to at least have fun with it. And thus Broccoli-head Guy was born. Yes, he is holding a broom with sparkles. And no, it's only a natural high.
As for the comic strip, the basic idea was that BHG was trying to take over the world. He kidnapped the mayor and held him in an abandoned apt. The Dark Gnat crashes through the window and yells out, "Where's my pizza?!?". Obviously both the mayor and BHG are somewhat befuddled by this. DG beats the crud out of BHG. Whilst the mayor is thanking him, DG continues to wonder where his pizza is. The story ends with BHG cursing DG and threatening to get his little dog too.

I did some artwork in a spanish text book a few months back. I happen to like the characters for this one. I had to hand the inks over to the publisher. I didn't have time to transfer them to my computer because I was really running close to deadline. The publisher was looking for a more cartoony, funny type of look than what previous artists had done. It's tough to make a daily routine funny. =X

I'm a fairly big Castlevania fan. I just wanted to do a quick skit of the Hunter and the Vampire dishing it out. That bottom panel of the first page is still by far one of the drawings I'm most proud of.

The biggest compliment I've ever received? Student at SVA: "They're only stick figures..." Rob: "Yeah, but they're the most fluid ones I've ever seen."
Rob was one of my buddies back at SVA. Our animation camera class had the use of a Master Oxberry Camera. Now, only one team can work on the camera at a time. So, inbetween usage, we used to keep busy by doing these stick figure comics. I'd usually draw something and he'd put words to them and/or add something else to it. He was also the guy who introduced me to the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comic. That's a hell of a comic. It has a stick figure character in it too. That Vasquez guy must have some screws in his head loose. =X

This character is from the first pencil test I ever did. I won't post that up... cause it's crap. My timing was completely off. But it was a half decent first attempt.

These are some models from the second animation project I ever worked on. Knight in Shining Armor. I'll try and scan in some of the key layout pieces later.
A knight is walking through the forest. He hears a scream and starts to run in the other direction. He comes to a mountain with a path leading up to a cave. Lighting flashes in the background and his cape flows in the wind. He runs to the cave.
Upon entering the cave he sees a beautiful princess tied to a stake and a monster about to attack her. He and the monster have a fight sequence which ends with him still standing. He carries the princess off into the sunset.
A few years later, we look back in on our knight again. He's looking kinda down and half asleep. His son is standing on a box and hitting him over the head with a teddybear. His wife, the princess has grown quite large and is yelling at him from the other room. After cutting back to the knight and his son again for a moment, we go back to the princess. We find her laughing uncontrollably. Suddenly, she unzips herself to reveal that she too is a monster!

I did some artwork in a spanish text book a few months back. I happen to like the characters for this one. I had to hand the inks over to the publisher. I didn't have time to transfer them to my computer because I was really running close to deadline. The publisher was looking for a more cartoony, funny type of look than what previous artists had done. It's tough to make a daily routine funny. =X

I'm a fairly big Castlevania fan. I just wanted to do a quick skit of the Hunter and the Vampire dishing it out. That bottom panel of the first page is still by far one of the drawings I'm most proud of.

The biggest compliment I've ever received? Student at SVA: "They're only stick figures..." Rob: "Yeah, but they're the most fluid ones I've ever seen."
Rob was one of my buddies back at SVA. Our animation camera class had the use of a Master Oxberry Camera. Now, only one team can work on the camera at a time. So, inbetween usage, we used to keep busy by doing these stick figure comics. I'd usually draw something and he'd put words to them and/or add something else to it. He was also the guy who introduced me to the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comic. That's a hell of a comic. It has a stick figure character in it too. That Vasquez guy must have some screws in his head loose. =X

This character is from the first pencil test I ever did. I won't post that up... cause it's crap. My timing was completely off. But it was a half decent first attempt.

These are some models from the second animation project I ever worked on. Knight in Shining Armor. I'll try and scan in some of the key layout pieces later.
A knight is walking through the forest. He hears a scream and starts to run in the other direction. He comes to a mountain with a path leading up to a cave. Lighting flashes in the background and his cape flows in the wind. He runs to the cave.
Upon entering the cave he sees a beautiful princess tied to a stake and a monster about to attack her. He and the monster have a fight sequence which ends with him still standing. He carries the princess off into the sunset.
A few years later, we look back in on our knight again. He's looking kinda down and half asleep. His son is standing on a box and hitting him over the head with a teddybear. His wife, the princess has grown quite large and is yelling at him from the other room. After cutting back to the knight and his son again for a moment, we go back to the princess. We find her laughing uncontrollably. Suddenly, she unzips herself to reveal that she too is a monster!
