View Full Version : ANOTHER attack possibly
I live an hour away from Chicago and a moment ago my house shook from two huge booms. We turned on the radio and a lot of people called in saying they heard it too, it was reported that a few F16's were chasing an American Airlines 747 before the plane was out of site, thats when the large booms were heard. Ill keep listening and tell you guys if I hear anymore, and DG, should I report this on the news page? I know its not confirmed to be the terrorists yet, but its certainly a big coinky dink that its a 747 being chased by F16's.
A Chicago official just said a tussle was reported on a jet, and the F16's went at high speeds, thats what caused the sonic booms, to chase the plane back to the airport. Apparently it happens all the time, just now we had some Fighter jets involved. Nothing to worry about...hehe...sorry to shake anyone up.... *awkwardly walks away*

Hehe, it's okay Nass. It just seems as though those F16s were as paranoid, afraid and anxious as we were, once hearing about that. I couldn't hear the sonic booms myself, being in NY, but I've been listening to a Chicago radio station hearing that exact news.
I'll ask yall don't get me started on America Airlines, let alone airlines in general. With my mother being the manager of a travel agency, and a travel agent in general for 20 years, I've heard quite a bit about how profit oriented airlines can be sometimes. Lacking on this, changing that just for money purposes. I won't get into boring nonsensical rants fueled by the confusion from today's incident.
Although for once I'm glad thing's WEREN'T what they seemedto be, and it wasn't another attack.

I think people are on the edge right now just a bit more because Bin Laden's people swore another strike against America if we struck against Afhghanastan. I think being careful and vigilant now is important and not to be ashamed of!

I live right by Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and the night of the 11th we all heard two loud booms. It turned out to be just two military jets breaking the sound barrier, but we got jumpy too!

According to the AP, here's what happened:
A father was travelling with his (adult) mentally-challenged son, when the son decided that he really, really wanted to see the cockpit because he thought it was cool. The cockpit was locked and barred because of skittishness, though the guy tried to get it open. The pilots had no idea who was out there and mashed the panic buttons. That got them the F-16 escorts.
I can understand completely why the pilots reacted the way they did, but this calls for a good, hearty, harmless laugh.

The scary thing is many political science experts and even a lot of government officials are *expecting* not fearing another terrorist attack. It probably wont be as bad as 9/11, but they said there's little that they can do to stop a smaller attack. The worst might not be over, we're just going to have to hope for the best.
