Chimpanzees struggling to survive amid the destruction of their forest habitat are snatching and killing human babies.

At least eight children have died in the past seven years in Uganda and Tanzania after being taken by chimpanzees and a further eight have been injured. The children were found with limbs and other body parts chewed off.

Something really ought be done about this. We can't really hold the apes in contempt for what is apparently their survival mechanism (or really stuttering and sluggish start to revolution), but I'd rather not have them eating people.

That's so sad. But it's sad too that this is the result of the destruction of these animal's natural habitat. You can hardly blame them. But it's still sad. I feel so conflicted:sweat:

I agree with you. This is a serious matter and we have no one to blame but ourselves. Our need to create more space for ourselves is going to wipe out yet another species. Thanks RZetlin for posting a more serious and though provoking article. Sorry others didn't appreciate it like I and some other people did. :sad:

I really hate it when animals attack people. I recall the time when the neighbors' dog attack me for no reason. Now I feel uncomfortable around dogs.(And I used to have a puppy too!)

Man, that's not right! I'm glad this was brought to my attention. I didn't bother to read the mountain lion thing, but when animals attempt to devour humans, it's because they can't find any other food. Not because they're pissed, but because they're starving. This must be stopped, but how?

They snatched a human baby from a mother? :eek: That must have been scary for both of the humans, but not the chimpanzee. If the various attacks were in any way caused by territorial takeover, down with the humans! If it is something else, the chimpanzees must be stopped.
