Acme Hour is shifted to 10:00 PM ET on Saturdays to make way for more Powerpuff Girls episodes.

Bullwinkle is gettting bumped off for the "Powerpuff Girls"  This does not make any sense to me at all.Doesn't CN air way too much of this crappy show to begin with?

Hey now - PPG isnt crappy. :)

Just cause its not classic doesnt make it bad. Granted however it _IS HIGHLY OVERPLAYED_ @___@

This is off topic for this board but I'm MORE AMAZED that the reign of THE MUCH OVERPLAYED Scooby Doo on Saturday afternoon is coming to a close! And for that I'll happily do an irish jig.

Word has it that since Jamie Kellner is pimping Toonami on KWB and the original had its extra hour that it worked hard for slashed, they may be trying to see how a Saturday afternoon version before Cartoon Olio would do and thier testing the waters with a Dragonball Z block. I'd personally hope so. It'd add a lot more diversity to Saturdays without DRONES AND DRONES AND DRONES of Scooby reruns :P

PPG is good, but too overrated and overplayed.

Too much of any show is bound to bring a lash back against it. PPG is a great cartoon, will always be one of my favorites, tho I do agree it does not need to be aired more. I liked it quite a bit more when it was only on twice a week, Wednesday night and Sunday night. Gee, remember those days? Bumping anything to make room for MORE airings of the PPG is wrong (unless they want to bump airings of Scooby Doo!)

I like the PPG too, but for once I'm divided on the matter. I don't get to see the CN much, so that means little of ANYTHING I see, so more PPG would be good for me, since I can catch up on them. Yet, I also like classic cartoons (especially thanks to this board :D). However, if PPG is being overplayed, then I'd have to be a little wary- "popular" shows that are lashed at like Rugrats and Pokemon had beginnings in getting JUST a little more airtime...

...though I gotta say anything NOT Scooby is good. That show took up ANY time slots good for me to watch toons on CN...

Marketing is the key here -- Cartoon Network and AOL Time Warner is making a bunch of money right now because Powerpuff Girl T-shirts, videos, breakfast cerial, etc. are hot on the market right now, and the suits feel that they can boost sales even a little bit higher by giving the show even more exposure.

It's their own version of what Kids WB did with Pokemon two years ago -- play it weekdays, play it weekends, play it mornings, play it afternoons, play it evenings, just play it as often as possible and ride the marketing wave as long as possible until it dies out. By then, CN hopes it will have another hot show ready to sell oodles of merchandies and clog up the prime-time line-up before someone else (like Disney or Nickelodeon) comes up with the next hot animated show.

The downside, of course, is if you play a limited number of shows a maximum number of times, the "I'm sick of it" factor gets higher and higher, even among the target audience of 5-12 year olds they hope will get their parents to buy all the merchandise. But CN is betting that won't happen among the kids (who handle repetition better) until the show has run its course.

PPG is a decent show, but come on, they publisize it too much. Bring on Bullwinkle! If it weren't for the classic cartoons of WB, MGM etc., all of the cartoons now (95% are crappy) would be here. Even the lousy Cartoon Cartoons.

BTW, Scooby Doo is a piece of garbage cartoon. It amazes me that my mom loves this lousy excuse of a cartoon.
