From what I have read, this show is going to feature restored Popeye cartoons, complete with original titles. Will this be sort of in line with the "dubbed versions" of the pre-48 Turner WB cartoons? Remember some of the pre-48 cartoons are PD, so would this be a way of getting a new copyright?

If this show is done like the Bob Clampett Show, what disclaimers would appear at the end if any. I want your opinions on this.

What do you mean by disclaimer? I don't remember a disclaimer at the end of The Bob Clampett Show!!!

Maybe he means like copyright information and that kind of stuff. IMHO, they would most indefinitely indicate that "This program is protected under copyright by King Features Syndicate and the Hearst Corporation. World Rights Reserved." You see?

:p

WB-Warner Brothers (though that one's obvious:rolleyes: )...

Hey...in any event, it's been to long since I've seen Popeye. Can't wait for this! Ah...memories of that ole' sailor man...admitedly, he inspired me to eat spinach at the dinner table. Yes, it's true...:rolleyes:

....oh, they'll probably have a disclaimer, IMHO.

FTR = For the record
IOW = In other words

The disclaimer at the end of The Bob Clampett Show only appeared if Clampett-family-owned material was used in that episode (the Beany and Cecil shorts, and all the still pictures from Bob's collection). "Beany and Cecil and other images ©[year?]) Bob Clampett Productions LLC (http://www.bobclampett.com/). All rights reserved."

LLC = limited-liability corporation (plenty of law firms out there that will help you start one; ask your favorite search engine)

The thanks to Sody, Rob, Jerry, and Milt appear in every episode.

Haven't seen it used much here, but there's FWIW - For What It's Worth

IIRC (If I remember correctly) gets used sometimes here.

Oh yes, and then there's MGM. It's a little known fact that MGM actually means Metro Goldwyn Mayer. I wonder what computer geek came up with that one? ;)

I like the title. I wonder if the opening to each episode will use stuff from the cartoon where Wimpy disguises himself as Popeye to get at Olive's hamboigers?

I hope that is the case! It's bad enough to see repeat retread tags on the beginning and end credits of Popeye cartoons that make absolutely no musical sense! Hopefully WB will follow suit by putting those "blue ribbons" to rest.

As for disclaimers, Toonheads has one, Bob Clampett has one, but that is all I know as far as closing credits to shows.

That would be "Hello, How Am I?". One would think that title should be "Hello, Who Am I?", but whadda I know.
