Hopefully this will provide some information in critical appraisal as well as pencilling techniques!

There is a related TOON ZONE News article can be found on the mainpage or http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?p=1091912#post1091912 - this goes into detail over the specific artwork in the present and upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE ADVENTURES title - I recommend both to all upcoming artists. Chris and inker Dan Davis, divulge a great deal of hints and tips as well as show some penned and inked artwork from both #26 and 27!

Any comments?

i'm a big fan of his adventures work, that's for sure. very interesting, he isn't shy to critique himself, he was very humble, i like that. doesn't seem at all snooty or anything. is there anyway that we can drag him into the db workshops so we can pick his brain...?

The interview on the Drawing Board website was done specifically for the workshop. Christopher is always keen - work schedule permitting - in working with Toon Zone. The guy scanned pretty much an entire issue of pencils for me to pick out pages I wanted to chat to him about - that's dedication.

Kudos to Dan Davis for the ink work to - he was on a busy schedule I recall and this wasn't really his interview yet he went and sent copies of all the inked pages you see.

So I imagine, given a good scenerio, we might be able to pull Chris in for something else... we'll see what he says and get back to you on that!

I think the lack of 'shyness' in Chris' self critique is a very good aspect to bring up. I thought - like most comic fans - we gaze in awe at some of the work we see, and I think it's good to see those artists been objective themselves - I think as artists it's good to see the people behind other artwork. Chris and Dan are fine examples of good people doing good artwork! :)

Creator interviews such as these are one element that keeps me as a reader here at Toon Zone. HUGE thanks to Chris Jones and Dan Davis for taking the time to do this, as well as MAJOR props to SJJ for another fantastic set of articles.

I've just spoken to Chris and he said he'd be happy to do a Q&A with the Drawing Board members. We'll see what we can set up for you!

Yeah, a Q&A would be great. He's a really good artist.

Cool. Then spread the word. If I get him to do a week's Q&A (i can't ask him to do as long as Dave Alvarez did) I would like there to be people ready with some questions!

I'll talk to him tomorrow and see what and when we can do this!! He seemed very happy with the idea!
