We've done overused cliches (http://forums.toonzone.net//showthread.php?t=88113&highlight=cliches) before (twice (http://forums.toonzone.net//showthread.php?t=46668), actually). How about we do overused lines again, then? Let's get the ball rolling with:
- "This is all your (or my) fault" (or variants thereof):
(I include examples some from live action too!)
Cro: The two bad mammoths, on getting tied to each other, IIRC.
The Wild Thornberrys Movie: Eliza, on the kidnapping of a cheetah cub she was playing with.
The Angry Beavers: Daggett, on Norb being sent to a zoo for chewing on Abe Lincoln's log cabin.
Barbie in Swan Lake: The unicorn, on prince Ken being tricked.
Josie and the Pussycats (the live-action film): Josie, on subliminal messages in her music.
Minority Report: The chief, on Tom Cruise being sent to jail or something.
Stuart Little: Stuart, on breaking stepbrother Johnathan Lipnicki's boat remote, clearly ruling him out of a race he had spent so long preparing for (but look what happens next).
The only ever animated Best Picture nominee, Beauty and the Beast: Belle, on her dad in an asylum.
Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame: the hunchback, on Esmerelda being captured.
- "You (or I) blew it" (used as part of a longer sentence, usually):
Beavers again: From the end of the same ep as above, Norb, on Dag's attempts to free him (and the other animals) from said zoo (which turned out to be actually quite a paradise).
Clifford: Jetta, on hitting the crossbar with the last shot of a soccer game.
Rocket Power: Reggie, on blocking Otto in windsurfing.
(In these quotes, the "you" version is usually said in anger... the "I" version is mostly said in depression. It also happens that I cringe at these lines.)
- "There's no 'I' in team":
The Weekenders: Lor's teammate in hoops, on losing another game b/c she wouldn't pass to him.
Kim Possible: Kim, during soccer practice.
Hey Arnold!: Coach Wittenberg in "Benchwarmer"... that said, his game plan revolves around his son Tucker.
- "We gotta do something (etc.) before it's too late":
I saw it in a promo for Justice League.
- "What have you (or I) done?":
The Weekenders: Carver, on Tino challenging two kids to a duel (not of guns mind you, but of coolness).
Grim and Evil: Grim, on seeing an eye pop out of Billy's back.
Dexter's Lab: Dexter, on the disappearance of his big sis's imaginary friend.
Quite a few WB shorts have this as well.
(The "I" version usually comes with a "but isn't that what you wanted?" situation.)
- Something ending in "...none of this would have happened":
The Powerpuff Girls Movie: the PPGs, on all that whole gorilla warfare (to borrow what Blossom said).
- "This is all your (or my) fault" (or variants thereof):
