In one episode... I can't remember which... Terry and Max are studying history, specifically, American Presidents. They call Clinton "the fun one," and then try to recall which President comes next. They call him simply "the boring one." Maybe a lot of people didn't like G.W. much at first, but I find it very hard to believe that, given recent events, anyone will look back on him and on this particular era in history and have nothing to say but "boring."

ah..but Terry replied then said "They were all boring!"

So, I assume it was just one persons point of view. Still, that's a keen observation...

That was brought up on the old boards when the election mess was taking place. I have the feeling that the creators of Batman Beyond wanted Gore to win, but had to put that "they were all boring" line in there to cover their butts just in case. But, yeah, I am confident they were trying to refer to Gore. They might have written the dumb one if they were trying to refer to Bush!

I think somebody wrote that any president after Clinton would be boring, and I don't think the subject got much further on the old boards. But I still think they were talking about Gore.

Actually, compared to the WTC bombing, doesn't Lewinsky/impeachment/etc. seem kind of boring? Also puts a new light on that "near apocalypse" reference in "Out of the Past."

Call it too generic a thought, but I just saw it as an obvious joke because at the time the episode aired no one had any idea who would win, so they were just ragging on the canidates. :) Although I think someone somewhere was assuming Gore would win, therefore fitting in with the "boring one" comment since he had no personality to show us.

Well, ol' W could still be the 'boring one'. We have no idea what's going to happen AFTER all of this mess is cleaned up (if it ever is  ). Look at what happend to Bush Sr. after Desert Storm. He rallies the country, stages a fast and efficient war, then we fired him. So maybe history will repeat itself.

I'm sure they were implying Gore with the crack about the boring one. Don't get me started about elections........

The way Dubya speaks, I dont think he'll ever become boring. Hearing him speak is like high comedy in the making. Not to mention I keep thinking of Will Ferrell everytime I see George W.

--any president would be dull after Clinton. His carnal debaucheries rival those of Caligula. How can a straight arrow like the younger Bush compete with The Ex-President Who Wouldn't Go Away? The man wants a legacy which doesn't involve a blatant lie, an intern, or an unexplained murder....

Yeah, that's probably the same cop-out the BB writers were hoping they could use, too! ;)

If wasting our tax money on useless programs and dishonoring all that is good about America is exciting, then I will pass on another "fun" Clinton. However, I personally consider getting a tax refund very "exciting".
