If you saw LNB&W, you'd think so. I was pretty impresed with what they showed!!! You could either check "What Aired Today" or pm me. Also, they showed an MGM cartoon in color. I think the title had to do something with Toyland. :) :D ;) :p

I hope so! I hate it when they edit the cartoons. This could be a good trend.

This could be a freak occurence or the start of a new trend. We will have to see. I will definitely be watching next week's show to find out. Like calhoun said in the other thread, it could have been something like some guy's last day, so he decided to pull a going away present.

And now, they're airing BIG CHIEF UGH-AMUGH-UGH on the Popeye show right now! Hell yeah!

"I licked him and how-wow
Ther'll be no more pow-wow
says Popeye the Sailor man
TOOT TOOT"

Every bit of that cartoon was so offensive and could be taken as demeaning to Indians (no wonder it never gets any air time, most catoons with Indian gags never go quite as far as I think this one did... @__@) but I'll be darned if that last line for some reason didnt have me screaming. ^__^

As for Popeye Meets Sindbad, I know that the "other" 'big Popeye' Fliescher was Popeye meets Ali-baba and the Forty Thieves. But wasnt there a third as well, or am I only dreaming? And isnt Ali-Baba the one thats rarely, if ever shown? I wish they'd play that one a little more than Sindbad... :(

The third two-reel color Popeye cartoon was Popeye Meets Aladdin and His Lamp. It was released in 1939. It features Olive as a script writer at Surprise Pictures, writing a movie script.

....I figured when LNB&W showed The Captain and The Kids short "Pygmy Hunt" that they might be relaxing their rules a bit. I do have "Porky's Ant" on tape, but I think it's a redrawn...and since it's the same joke, pretty much, in both cartoons, it doesn't seem too far off to think the original might air on a show like the Acme Hour.
Now I'm sorry I went to bed after Droopy. Guess I wore myself out laughing at "Shuffle off to Buffalo", with the Jewish baby, the two little colored babies, and the elfen Eddie Cantor. :) BTW, did anyone else's screen inexplicably go black in the middle of the short for about a half-minute and then flash the end card a few seconds too soon? Also, the first cartoon on Droopy was dubbed in Spanish, even after I switched the remote back to "primary"....freaky.

I saw the screen go black for about a minute then near the end of SOTB, for a split second, the begginning title card showed then switched back to SOTB.

I saw the screen go black. Also, did anyone notice that "Garden Gophers" was translated in French? I thought it would be a good chance to see it uncensored. To bad!!! By the way, what was so offensive about that Popey cartoon? I saw it. I didn't see much seriously offensive stuff!!!
